I am having so much difficulty deciding on a resort for our upcoming trip in June.

It will be me, wife, DS (8), DS (6), and DD(2).

On our previous 2 trips, we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge each time and loved it. But that was when there were just 4 of us.

We are now looking at these 3 resorts - the Polynesian, Boardwalk, and Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I am leaning more toward the Poly, but DW is leaning more toward the Boardwalk.

Any suggestions and/or comments from anyone who has experience with these resorts?

Thanks.

If it were me, I would DEFINATELY choose the Animal Kingdom Lodge or Poly over the Boardwalk. All three are GREAT resorts with their own merits. I just feel that the Poly and the AK Lodge have a much more secluded RESORT feel to them. Transport by Disney Bus is your only free transporation option at the AK LOdge, please keep that in mind. The Poly has buses, it's own monorail station and you can walk to the TTC to access the EPCOT Monorail.

I love BW...my favorite. But, in your case I think I would go with the Polynesian. The pool would be perfect with your kids...zero entry is so nice for the little ones. There is a small food court type spot to grab a quick bite. BW does not offer that. And you can't beat the transportation options at the Polynesian. You can..take a boat to MK, take the monorail to MK. You can walk over to TTC via a nice short walkway and grab the monorail to Epcot. A bus to MGM and AK. We really liked the Polynesian and I think it's a great spot for kids.

BW is nice since you can walk to Epcot and MGM. But, with little ones you would most likely be at MK more. BW just seems to be a little more adult in theme. Yes, there are plenty of kids there...just check out the pool any afternoon. There is also a nice perk of having Community Hall at BW. THey have some great stuff for the kids to do. But, I think that most kids would rather be in the parks. My dd loves going to Community Hall but she is on her third trip to WDW this year come June!! The pool at BW is nice. And they do have a nice kids area.

You really can't go wrong with any of those choices. I say nothin either way about AKL because I've never stayed there. I've eaten there and walked around the area after dark and it seems very nice. THe pool there is also zero entry if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for the replies.

The accessability to the Monorail is one of the biggest reasons I prefer staying at the Poly.

DW really likes the allure of the Boardwalk. I am going to try to sell her on the Poly, but sometimes she's a tough sell.

I've only stayed at the Poly, 7 times, maybe I'm a little biased, but for me personally it's the only place to stay. The atmosphere, and monorail convenience are two huge factors. Hope this helps.

imatoad,

A question for you (and any others), since you've stayed there often....

I always get a room with either a water view. In the case of the Wilderness Lodge, a Courtyard View.

I really want a Lagoon View at the Poly. But right now, as it stands without any codes out yet, the price for a Lagoon View is about $100 more per night than a Garden View.

The questions are: Is the Lagoon View worth the extra price? Or what is the chance for an upgrade?

Thanks again!

June will be pretty crowded so having access to the monorail with three kids will be priceless! although the Poly was nice it isn't my favorite (I haven't stayed at them all yet) The view makes a huge difference for us. It really depends on what will make or break your trip. Do you love sitting on the balcony and watching the sun/rise set? Will you be up to watch the fireworks? There will probably be codes out for June, if not book it AAA rate. That way you atleast get a little discount off the bat. I would go for the lagoon view. jmo
