Note: I am operating under the assumption that they will release room-only discounts for late November, and that FW Cabins and CB or CS will be 25% off. If they do, for almost exactly the same price we can stay either:

3 nights at a FW Cabin and 3 nights at a whichever moderate we can get at the discount rate.

OR

6 nights at the Dolphin with their current deal of 6th night free and $100 dining credit. (I'm including their resort fee and parking fee in my calculations)

I am completely on the fence. :confused3 I LOVE the campground, lots of good childhood memories, love the nature, the critters, the deck on the cabins, campfires, boat to MK, etc. But pretty meh about both those moderates. I've never stayed at Swan/Dolphin before, but I would love to be able to walk/boat to HS, Epcot and BW. Also like that we could get king bed for no additional money.

We are a thirty something couple, no kids and will have a car. I've been to Disney many times but not in 4 long years. It's DH's 2nd trip. Staying as described above is top of the budget for us, so don't try to convince me to stay 6 nights at WL - I wish!!

My choice will always be to go for the longer stay. I have never stayed at the Swan or Dolphin, but I have checked out the Swan/Dolphin thread here and they both sure look nice. And being so close to Epcot, DHS and the BW is a huge plus for a thirty-something couple sans kids. :thumbsup2

Edit: What ever Disney vibe might be missing from the Dolphin would easily be made up for by doubling your time in the parks!

Another vote for the Dolphin, for easy access to Epcot and DHS. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the feedback, this helps me so much!

Just to be completely clear, it would be 6 nights total in each scenario. In option #1 we have to switch resorts, which is probably a mark on the con side because of the time we'll waste moving. But six nights in the cabins would put us too far over budget, hence the need for the move down to a moderate to keep the total costs down.

I am really not a fan of the Dolphin but if it fits in your budget -- I would do the split stay.

I had the Dolphin booked (with a teacher's discount) before I lucked into PIN from Disney Destinations.

It looks like a lovely resort. And being able to WALK to either Epcot or Hollywood Studios-- more imporant, being able to walk BACK at the end of a long day without waiting on line for transporation-- that's huge!!!

Throw in the dining options-- at Epcot and at the Swan/Dolphin complex-- and it seems like a no-brainer to me.

The ONLY two caveats:
a. No DDP. We're not on the DDP this time anyway, so it didn't matter.
b. No DME. You'l have to arrange transportation to and from the airport. The Dolphin's transportation page has that covered; it's really not a huge financial undertaking.

Wait-- I just read your screen name. Are you a teacher?? If so, then take a look at the teacher's discount for the Swan/Dolphin. You can save some serious money!!!
