In revising my plans a couple months ago, I rescheduled a lunch for Le Cellier for another day. However, I cannot bring myself to cancel the original ADR!!! :confused3

I'm a newbie, so I'd like to try as many different places as possible, but hearing so many great things here about Le Cellier, I don't know . . . should we go there twice????? Or should we try something different?

(our other non-character ADRs are San Angels, Coral Reef, Narcoosee, 50's Prime Time, Brown Derby, Jiko, Chefs de France and California Grill)

Congrats on planning your first trip!

IMO, LeCellier is severely overrated on this board. It's a steakhouse - truly nothing you can't get at home, and the atmosphere isn't much either. I think there are other places at Epcot that are more unique and/or better food and service. I wouldn't dine there twice if it's your first trip.

You have some great choices chosen already - do you need another suggestion for Epcot?

Well since I'm not a fan of Le Cellier, I would pick just about anywhere else rather than eating here twice.

Perhaps Tutto Italia in the Italy pavilian?

I completely agree with this statement because this is the way I felt when dining at Le Cellier last year. After reading the wonderful reviews on the DIS, I called three times per day trying to get reservations... finally, a lunch opened up for one of our Epcot days and I booked it immediately... what a mistake, and a huge waste of time. :sad2:

I won't go into great detail, but it was not what I expected at all. I could have got better food for 1/2 the price at an Applebee's or Outback Steakhouse, not to mention the snotty service we received at Le Cellier. :snooty:

Honestly, I would skip it entirely unless you have an overwhelming urge to eat lower than Applebee's quality food at twice the price, with poor service to boot. There are far better restaurants in WDW, and especially in Epcot that I can highly recommend from my own experiences. :thumbsup2

I have to agree that Le Cellier is not that great of a resturant...We cancelled our Dinner ADR for LC last trip after a very disapointing lunch...We were very lucky to get one for Coral Reef. Much better service and atmosphere and if steak is what you want the steak was very good here too.
If your not firm on only eating at Epcot for that particular evening then Kona Cafe at the Poly is also very good.
otherwise look at the menus and see what sounds good.

LeCellier is good-DH has to eat there everytime we go. IMHO its just good, not great(DH would argue with that) and there are so many other fun places to go. I personally would just go once. One of our favorites in Epcot is Teppanyaki (now Teppan Edo?? or something like that).

Do LeCellier at least once though!

We ate at Le Cellier recently and loved it. Everyone truly enjoyed their meals. I don't think of it as much of a steakhouse though, but I did get the filet and it was superb. There is only one steak and one filet offereing, but plenty of other great meals. That being said, I would keep your one ADR and choose others for your stay. There are so many great places in WDW both for food and atmosphere, I would never eat in the same place twice. For Epcot, there are both France restaurants, 2 in Japan, Germany's Biergarten. ANd also Coral Reef.

We love Le Celllier and would eat there twice without blinking twice. Of course to each his own!!

I think it each to their own about Le Cellier's. My DS & DIL when we took them in 2006 & loved it. We tried it in 2007 was very disappointed. My steak was burnt to a crisp that I had to send it back which took another 40 minutes. My poor DH waited until mine was fixed right but I told him to eat before his got cold. The people next to me was served a rare piece of steak & he wanted it well done. No he didn't get mine lol as he said that was too well done for his taste :rotfl:

We have dined at Le Cellier countless times. We eat there each trip. I would not compare it to Applebee's which imo is awful; but I will admit that on occasion the service or food may be lacking, but isn't that going to happen just about anywhere you frequent?

To the OP, I would say keep your lunch ressie, cancel your dinner ressie (unless you really LOVE IT!!) and try some another place. I hope you enjoy it! I will be ordering my cheddar cheese soup and munching on yumbo breadsticks there soon!!!

We ate at LC for dinner once and it was fantastic...couldnt get in again for dinner so we went for lunch and it was awesome too! We are going back again in Oct for dinner, I really loved the mushroom filet, but now that they serve it for lunch I may just change it around.

I know alot of people say that it is just a steakhouse but I have never had a mushroom filet with risotto anywhere else nor have I seen it on any other restaurants menu...just like you dont see the filet with wine sauce and mac and cheese from Jiko anywhere else.

Epcot is probably where we will be on that day. Any ideas you may have would be helpful! :goodvibes

How about Coral Reef? This is one of my very favorites in Epcot.

I gave up even trying to get an ADR at Le Cellier. I really wanted to try it just because of the hype. I was able to get ADR's at Coral Reef last year and had one of the best steaks I have had in a long time. I wont even try for Le Cellier again, not worth the aggravation. I have ADR's for my upcoming trip at Coral Reef and I can't wait to go.

Have fun planning your trip.
