Can't book EMM

Hi all,

I have been trying to get tickets to Early Morning Magic for a Sunday in mid-August, but the website keeps showing an error when I select my date. So I called the number WDW provided to try and book over the phone. The lady I spoke to was very curteous, but had no clue what I was talking about. Her supervisor finally got involved (not my doing) and tried to convince me it was EMH and I didn't need to reserve it. I explained again it was not the same, and they finally came up with Early Morning EVENT, not EMM. Ok, I was pretty sure that was it, so I asked if I could book it. The lady tried to figure out how, and kept saying she couldn't find a way to reserve the tickets. Then she gave me a number to call, and at this point there was just silence. I think she may have put me on hold, but had given me no reason for why I was on hold, so feeling a bit confused, I hung up. The number she had given me turned out to be the same number that I had just hung up on.
Just to clarify, I was not at all rude or impatient with this woman. She was very nice, and was genuinely trying to be helpful.
So my question is, how do I book EMM? Is it too early to book EMM for mid-August 2016? Has anyone else had this sort of problem?

Thanks in advance!

No, it isn't too early to book. I booked several weeks ago for mid August. I almost hate to ask this, but are you sure the event isn't booked to capacity? I know these are limited availability events. I am not sure how the system handles things if / when they are sold out. I would certainly say, don't be afraid to call again, and again if necessary, until you find someone on the phone that knows what they are talking about. Not all phone CM's are created equally!

Go to My Disney Experience. Click on Make Dining Reservations. Search within in Dining Reservations for Early Morning Magic. Click on it, move the calendar cursor to August. The available dates are indicated in blue.

I have been trying to make the reservation this way for the past 3 days, and each time I get an error. I know it is only on certain days - the date I am selecting is a Blue day.

I just went through, trying all the available dates in August, and for each one, it returns an error. Either they have all sold out, or there is a problem with the system.

Call again and try a different CM. Some are clueless, some are great. You got a clueless one this call. Just call back & you'll get someone completely different, as they might say on Monty Python.

I actually noticed this problem too. I have EMM booked on a Sunday in mid-August (booked it a while ago, when they extended dates into August). So, out of curiosity, I've been checking my date once in a while, just to see if it shows up 'booked' - really just wondering if the date I'm going on is sold out. It (website and online booking) has been showing 'error' for a few days now. I checked other dates in July / August as well, and they were all showing 'error'. I would keep checking online as well as calling in. As PP mentioned, if you get a CM who can't help you, try calling again later. Good luck. I'm really excited about the EMM for my family and I hope you get to experience it too!

I have had the same problem for September. I had been checking several dates often as we decide whether to do it or not, just to make sure it's not filling up, and a couple days ago the system was unable to search for anything. I think it is a glitch, not a sellout, but I am trying to make our decision today so we can book.

As a PP mentioned, I booked for August 14th as soon as the dates became available, and then randomly checked out of curiosity to see if the day every became sold out. I noticed quite a while ago (I would say at least a week and probably longer, but I really can't remember exactly) that it started showing an error every time I checked for any date in July or August. I could still make other dining ADRs, and could still book the Star Wars fireworks for the dates that have been announced, so I know it wasn't the entire system. It just hasn't let you book EMM for a while now. I was wondering why, and actually contemplated asking on here, but since I already booked I just never got around to it. I was worried they were going to cancel or mess with the dates, but it's still showing in MDE. I hope nothing changes!

Just got off the phone with a Disney CM. She was very nice & helpful, and actually knew what I was talking about! (Hooray!)
She informed me that the date was sold out, but offered no explanation for why the online system was showing an error.
Thanks for the help, everyone! Looks like I just found out about EMM too late to get a spot, but I'll keep checking and hope something comes up.
Have a MAGICAL day! ;)

Uh-oh, maybe it is all booked! Oh well, I'm being indecisive about it, so maybe it's nice to have the decision made for me.

Maybe, but I'm skeptical. That has never been how something that is sold out indicates that it is sold out. It says no availability, not unable to search for tables right now. Plus, nearly every day in August was available when I was last able to check, and not they are ALL booked? Again, not saying they can't be sold out as they do have small capacity, but if you want to go I would keep checking and/or calling.

I agree with ninafeliz. I was surprised to hear that a CM told you they were all sold out. A few dates maybe, but all of them? Just seems unlikely to me too. Especially because it says 'error'. I think that if it is something you really want to do that it's worth keeping an eye on.

I found out after calling in when I booked and had a CM that had no clue what I was talking about, that it's actually booked through dining and not events/tours. Hopefully that will help future callers. I'm surprised it's sold out for August already, because people were getting pretty last minute bookings in June. I guess the word is out on this one and it's gained some popularity.

This is interesting, because I tried first booking through Dining and got the clueless CM and her equally clueless supervisor. The second time, I connected to Event Tickets and they knew exactly what I was talking about.

It is booked as dining on the website, which is why I had a hard time finding it the first time. I was looking for both the DAH which was an event and the EMM which was dining. I read somewhere that it was dining because it involved a meal.

I don't think I explained this very well, sorry. What I meant was the date I was looking at was sold out. I didn't ask her to check any other dates.

I don't believe the info you got was correct either.
There is an issue with booking these. The online system has a glitch so that when you try to book them it gives a $0 amount and it won't go through.
The CM seem to encounter the same issue and only with some major prodding are they able to process a reservation for this event. No way have that many guests even tried to get to the right CM to book them.
You need to try again to get a CM that will find the correct way to book it

So it is sold out? I was wanting to book it on 9/13 and I keep getting the error too. I'll be so bummed!
