This story is almost unbelievable but I almost have to write it to believe it. DH and I had annual passes in 2003 and went in May; we booked another trip using our annual pass (which expires in May) for March. DH was diagnosed with kidney stones and we had to cancel as they doctor said he was not fit to travel. We then renewed our APs in May of 2004 and rebooked our trip for September so that my DH could have surgery, recuperate and go back to work for a little while. Well, the hurricanes came and we decided to cancel again and since DH works in sales a trip in Oct, Nov or Dec was a no go - we booked for January 18-28 and just two days ago, we found out we are PREGNANT. First and foremost, we are thrilled and overjoyed since this will be our first and of course, we need to cancel our trip yet again but at least it is for a great reason. Needless to say, DH said he would call WDW Ticket Center and try to get the $760 we paid for renewed annual passes back - we decided that we will take the family to WDW in 2008 - after all, our child will owe us a trip to WDW, right? Anyone got some pixie dust for us - we need any that we can get:)

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Are you sure you can't go? I saw lots of pregnant women at WDW earlier this month.

Congrats!!! Now you have something to look forward to in a few years, seeing Disney through the eyes of your child :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy.
Is there a medical reason why you could not go on your trip? I realize there would be some attractions that you would miss, but I would not cancel my trip.

Congratulations!! :)

But...why can't you still go?? It would be nice to have one last trip with just the two of you.

Jill

Congrats!!!!
Why can't you still go? I have gone in my first trimester. I see alot of pregnant woman at WDW. 2008 seems like a long time from now. I could never wait that long. I think you and DH should have one last trip alone!

I'm with the others! Congrats and don't cancel! :)

You're going in January, so you won't be carrying yourself and a baby around in 90+ degree heat.

Go, and have a different type of trip. Soak in lots of atmosphere, and let the baby start getting the Disney fix even before birth! ;)

Thanks for the well wishes - I tried to talk my DH into still taking our trip and perhaps just reducing it to 5 nights but he just doesn't want me getting on a plane and he is already starting to baby me - not that I mind. We just have so much to do and the money we get back from the trip will be used to renovate the baby's room and buy furniture and such. It's just so early in the stages that I also don't feel comfortable flying - perhaps if this was my second child. Besides I just took the bull by the horns and canceled our hotel, rental car, town car, etc. . - DH can deal with airfare and tickets since I don't need the stress (good excuse, right??) Thanks again and although we love Disney, to us, this is the best present we could ask for and I think we can handle the wait - I hope:)

Congratulations on your pregnancy! What a wonderful early Christmas present!

When you renewed your AP's, did they send you the green plastic certificates to turn into tickets? If so, your AP's haven't started and can be redeemed at anytime and the price that you paid will be honored even if you don't go back until 2008. You would have to go to Guest Relations to redeem them, and they would honor them and change the expiration date to correspond with the correct year.

However, if you need the money (and who doesn't?), call and ask for ticketing, explain the circumstances, and see if they will be able to refund. If so, GREAT! If not, just remember, those certificates will be good when you next get the chance to go to Walt Disney World.

Again, Congratulations, and Have a Happy Holiday!

This is not true any longer. Renewal of an AP pass is from the date you first used the original. A voucher will be back-dated to reflect that.

My sister did Disney last year when she was about 7 weeks pregnant. Other than combating alittle morning sickness she did just fine. Actually, her MD, kind of suprised us and said she could still pretty much ride anything and everything. Needless to say she did (which I don't know I'd recommend), and everything was fine. Not to say that would always be the case.

Congratulations.

On the topic of the AP renewal. What you might be able to do is to get WDW to convert it to getting a new AP. For about $30 or so more (difference between a renewal and new AP), you will get a voucher that will never expire.

Well, thanks for the information - I love DISers - I always get the best advice on everything. I will see first if we can get the $$$ back - I would love to start a small CD with the money we get back from our trip and watch it grow so that we can take our little one to WDW in 2008 but if all we can get is an extension on our AP or trade them in for new APs, that is fine too since who knows how much $$$ they will be in 3 years. Thanks again and keep the pixie dust coming:)

Unless it's a serious health risk, you should go ahead and go.

Jan 2000, I had a sales conference at the GF. My wife went (flew) and had a great time and she was 5-6 months pregnant at the time. She had a great time touring the parks. When I wasn't available she toured with an associate's wife who was also 5-6 months pregnant! On top of that, they were each corralling 2 1/2 year old boys!

Definitely Congratulations! ...and, definitely GO! It will be so nice to take that one last trip together, just the two of you. It will be even more special knowing it is, technically, baby's first WDW trip! A baby is a blessing to be sure, no doubts about it...however, your life will change the moment he/she comes into the world! Everything will certainly be marvelous with a little one!. It will also be different, LOL. :earboy2:

I sent you a PM

Thanks all again. DH and I decided to cancel because we know it's the right thing to do. I want to stay out of work for at least 6 months with the baby so we need to start adding to our savings. Plus, DH and I have been married almost 5 years and have been to Disney 3 times so we consider ourselves pretty lucky. We will save and take our little one to WDW during the Xmas season in 2008 and seeing Disney through a child's eyes will be the best gift we could ever get. Thanks for your well wishes.

Suppose you better change that counter then.

Congratulations to the both of you, stay healthy, and keep saving! With a little one, time flies and 2008 will be here before ya know it! ::yes::

Blessings,

Denise :flower3:

Congrats on the great news! You have to do what is comfortable for you and your husband, but I wanted to add that I have travelled extensively (abroad -- long flights) during the first trimesters of my pregnancies, (and the 2nd, and 3rd trimesters, LOL) and everything was great. Anyway, if you don't go now, just think, next year you can bring your baby!
