After reading about Fidelity(the good and the bad lol):rolleyes1 here I checked their website for a small BWV contract--we've been watching the Timeshare Store without success. We wanted 50 points, found one for 60, made an offer, they accepted! We offered enough that I'm not worried about ROFR. Our only concern is having different UY--all our other points are February, this is August, but we do go twice a year and will just transfer all each year into our other BWV account if we have to to avoid having "orphan" points. I don't know how long it would take for a Feb. contract to show up but after not seeing ANY small BWV contracts for a few months and not wanting to pay Disney's prices, we made the leap of faith!

I just have to say, YAHOO!

Congratulations!!! We thought about that one too as we are considering doing a small add on at some point. But, really are not quite ready to jump in to a 2nd UY.

It was a hard choice--we really had to think it through--we already have enough confusion with have two home resorts! But we don't generally transfer points any other time(and hopefully won't need to now with more!) so I HOPE we won't mess up by just transferring the points if we need to. Fortunately, at the moment the times we usually go are in numbers that would work for 2-3 nights; 20 points one season, 30 the other, but of course we all know that's subject to change!
However, I DO love nothing more than messing around with my points, adding and figuring on little scraps of paper...

I made an offer on the 50 pointer on Fidelity on Saturday. I am still waiting to hear back. I wish I would hear back as soon as you did! We have been looking at a small add on as well, but weren't comfortable going into the 2nd UY. We have Dec, so this is perfect!

I think this is something that evades the UY discussion:

How popular (ie percent of inventory) is the UY you want?

For us, an Apr or Sept would work the best, but Aug has about twice the % of inventory (at SSR) than either Apr or Sept (12% vs 6%.)

Seriously, since we're looking for our 1st contract (and we buy into keeping the same UY,) we'd probably buy an Aug UY just for addonisis.

Ah, so you're the one! I was amazed that they had two small contracts at the same time--we've been watching for a while. Hope you hear back soon!

I looked over at the ROFR board, but did not see any details of your offer. How much did you offer?

We just made the offer today and it was accepted shortly after. We paid the asking price ($70) but they are paying the MF and half the closing costs.

:wizard: Good for you and a good price too! It took us 2-3 months before finding a Feb UY BWV small pt purchase from the Timeshare Store. (Those guys are great by the way). Wanted to try small points first before making a larger purchase just to see how the point system works. May make another small point purchase down the road and hoping it's another Feb UY.

Waiting, waiting, waiting to hear that we passed ROFR.(Not worried about that one. Need the points to book trips!!

How exciting! Glad you found what you were looking for. I think for the small number of points, you got an amazing deal! Smaller contracts usually command a higher price per point. :thumbsup2

Guess we passed ROFR--we just got our closing documents via Fedex! We've had a very smooth transaction with Fidelity--praying that continues up until we close!

Hope it continues to go well....we are joining you. We had our offer accepted on Thursday and are sending our paperwork into Fidelity tomorrow for a 100 point contract at BWV.

And--- we're closed! I think--the deed is listed on the Orange county website. No word from Fidelity and the new contract isn't on our DVC site yet--anyone know how long it takes for points to show up?

This was completely painless. We obviously had a good seller and things went the way they should! Now...to figure out what to do with these points lol.

Congratulations! So glad things went smoothly. It took 10 days from the time our contracts were recorded until we were in the system. My guess is it will be less than that since things seem to be returning back to normal for both Disney and the brokers.
