And had an absolutely amazing time. We went from October 25 to Nov2, and stayed at the Boardwalk Villas. The we, is me, dh Steve, dd Katie(13) and ddEmily(11). We flew out of Buffalo on usair, on a 7am flight. Security in Buffalo was definitely beefed up, had to show my passport everywhere. My 13 year old, was one of the lucky ones to get patted down, she didnt like that much. Because of extra security our plane landed half an hour late. But Tiffany town car was there waiting. It was very hot and humid, and we were dressed in jeans. Anyway, checked into our one bedroom villla, then headed to Epcot. Its tradition with us to have our first meal at Teppanyakis in Japan. We noticed how absolutely dead Epcot was. Luckily for us, that was the way it was, most of our stay. 10 minute wait for Space Mountain, rode Buzz Lightyear 5 times in a row, no wait, Big Thunder Mountain, we did a total of 12 times this trip(fav ride), with never more than a 10 minute wait. We loved it.

Places we ate were: Teppanyaki(japan)
Rainforest Cafe(animal kingdom w/free gift certs, from reward prog)
Planet Hollywood(free gift certs)
Hollywood and Vine for lunch
Chefs de France
Bomas
Ohanas
Rainforest(Downtown, free gift certs)
ESPN
Fast food places: Columbia Harbour House
Pizza Planet
Cosmic Rays
We also, ate our way around the world, during the Food and wine festival, loved it. We are not breakfast people, so we had a bagel in the room.

They do check ur bags at evey park, but are very friendly with it. Didnt take long. We were there when they closed Port Orleans, and yes, COP is closed(missed it). The 100 years of Walt Disney at MGM was very interesting.

We did Mickeys Halloween Party and really had fun, and visited all parks and many resorts. We had annual passes from last year, which expired on the last day. So. we got 18 days of holiday on the passes(two of which were free, from rewards)
All in all, this was a great holiday. Low crowds, warm weather(but not too hot). Everything worked well. ON the flight home, we thought because of extra security, we should arrive early. They asked if we wanted to leave on an earlier flight, so got from ticket counter to the air in under 40 minutes.
If anyone has questions, please let me know, will be glad to answer!

Welcome home!Sounds like you had a wonderful time.:)

Sounds like an amazing trip! Welcome back! :D

Holy smokes you're back already! So glad to hear that you all had a fantastic time! Sounds like it's really quite empty too.....which is really sad.... but great never having to wait so long for the attractions. Anyway Maryann we're glad to have you back with us and enjoyed reading your "mini trip report" Now go get that laundry done! LOL;)

Hi Maryann! Welcome back to reality! Glad to hear you had a great trip. Will you be writing a detailed trip report? Sad to hear COP is down. My daughter and I will be in the World November 14-21 and had really hoped to sing along with that song one more time. Did you have a chance to see Spectromagic?

After reading your post, I wish I would have kept up with the reward program. Sounds like you got a lot of freebies. Good for you! Did you happen to pick up any coupons for restaurants this time? You were good enough to send me one last year which my family really appreciated...every cents counts...especially with our Canadian dollar!

Did you have any favorites at the Food and Wine Festival?

10 days won't come soon enough for me, so for now, living vicariously through your vacation memories will have to do!

So when's your next trip?

Shelly

Welcome back. Did the low crowd attendance take away from the 'happy' ambiance of WDW? One of the reasons we are going in January is because the crowds are smaller, but I don't want to be there alone:D
Did you have lunch or dinner at Boma's? Did you need a PS? What did you have to eat there and how was it? As you can probably tell, were debating on dining there.
Just curious, but why is Teppanyakis in Japan your traditional first meal in WDW?

Thanks for your responses, let me see if i can answer some of your questions. Sammi, youre right the worst part of coming home is the laundry, but hey, its worth it.
Shelley: Sorry, I dont have any coupons, those things are harder to get this year. Look on some of the Orlando websites, i did get coupons there, for discounts for Planet Hollywood and the ESPN club. Our next holiday is set for August 25-31.
Dave, the low attendance didnt bother us at all, in fact, no lines really added to our happy feeling. How often can you ride Big Thunder Mountain four times in a row in less then 30 minutes. We ate at Bomas for dinner, they are not open for lunch. The food was so good, the curry coconut chicken soup was amazing. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. We had a PS, but probably didnt need it, you might not in January. Teppanyakis, is our first day tradition, because we all love the food. We stay at the Boardwalk, so we walk over while the room is being made ready, have our favourite lunch, to get us off to a great start. Would be glad to answer any other questions!

I'm posting from Orlando. We are in the HIMGE - just love this place. Very convenient to quick drive to the parks. Did DD on Sunday - busy. Did Ak today - busy around park but ride times okay using FP. Rode Kali in our ponchos three times in a row - a cool overcast day. Saw parade at 4:00 - no wait for a good view. Left par and changed to warm clothes and drove to MGM to see Fantasmic. Arrived 5:00 - place was packed by 6:30. Wow - what a show, now I know what all the fuss is about.
Plan to do MK tomorrow - hoping it is a bit quieter than AK was today.
