I was waiting until the 2008 packages came out to book my December 2008 vacation and all my top room choices are gone.:sad1: I had heard the first couple weeks of December aren't that busy and I figured not many people would book room only reservations for December so soon! :confused3 Anyone want to give me their standard view Wilderness Lodge room? :teeth: Thanks for letting me vent!

We first looked online and then called in hopes of a website error but the CM told us the same thing.

I am shocked as well! I wanted to book the WL but all they have left is Courtyard bunkbeds and Concierge. What on earth is going on?:confused3

It is really disappointing. I was hoping to spend a few days at WDW before my cruise in December but it looks like I have to book something right now or everything will be gone! I really wanted the WL. Hopefully people will cancel and something will open up.

I was extremely disappointed as well. I'm not sure where to stay now. POFQ was our back up but they have no king bed rooms left. We might have to pinch pennies for the BWI but I don't think it will have the same Christmas feel as WL. Anyway, good luck to you - I'm crossing my fingers for some cancellations as well!

If it helps at all, we did a spit stay between WL & BWI back in Dec. '05 - and BWI was our favorite, hands down. They had beautiful Christmas decorations (more upscale, where WL's are more rustic), lovely poinsettias everywhere, my favorite type of Christmas music playing throughout the resort (Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Andrews Sisters, etc.). I could go on and on. I'm already considering it for 2008! :thumbsup2

Thank you for replying - I'm so happy to hear that!! :cool1:

The first couple weeks of December used to not be busy, but now with Mousefest and Pop Warner that's no longer the case.

Of course, there is really no slow time anymore.

It's the Disney Magic!:wizard: Apparently the word is
getting out how wonderful and MAGICAL :wizard: this place is!!! That's
why I even went ahead and just reserved my room at the POFQ for
March of 2008. I didn't hesitate because I was scared :scared1:
I 'd be without a room. Now I'm trying to decide whether to purchase
DDP.:confused3

Yep, I found the same thing, soon you'll have to book a room two years in advance and hope the rate doesn't get too high, or the only rate you'll get on shorter notice is concierge level. The less crowded seasons are now becoming the crowded seasons.

My experience has been that they open rooms up throughout the year - either that or there are planty of cancellations. Just keep checking the website. I'm sure a room that you want will become available between now and then.

:scared1: I called yesterday at around 11am or so to plan for December 2008. I booked us at ASM suites . We are suppose to g from Dec. 1st- 11th. I wonder now ( forgot about POP Warner) if this was a mistake to plan our trip then or not:confused3 :headache: .

I wanted to hit the Xmas stuff and some warm weather, BUT is it going to be a nightmare to deal with POP Warner as well??? I am not sure how many days they are there when my trip is planned, anyone know how long the "hang out" at Disney?

I fiugre if I am better off I can flip the dates to the 12/8-18th instead, if there is anything open still.

Last year in Oct. I tried to book the ASM suites and they were already booked up so this time I acted fast.

Later in the evening i tried to price out WL for kicks for the 6 of us and said it was full , thought there is no way. I never pursuied it , I was trying to play with numbers-thought dh would have a cow when I got a price at Poly came up to be like 9-12k:eek: , Iknow that would not go over!

Hi I*heart*gusgus!

I'm having the exact same issue as you - we're looking for WL standard view, 2nd week of Dec. 2008. Only courtyard bunk bed or Club Level available, supposedly. I posted another thread about this and one of the responses said that a CM they spoke to said that not all of the rooms have been released yet, so we're just supposed to keep checking back!

So all is not lost! We'll just have to keep trying! :)

Wilderness Lodge standard view probably book the quickest of any rooms in December.

Lots and lots of people want to stay there during Christmas season because of the theming and there are not a lot of standard rooms.

I think something strange is going on. I called for a room only for GF or Poly for the week of Thanksgiving, right after the 499 day opened up and there was nothing but suites. So I checked again yesterday when the packages opened up...for Thanksgiving weekend of 2008, only suites at GF, Poly and Contemporary. That is not possible that they all booked up. I'm wondering if all the rooms are really released yet. So now, I'll just have to log on, on a daily basis to see if anything is opened.

MF and POP Warner do not take up that many rooms really - it's just that thw word it out about the weeks after Thanksgiving being slow...so now it's not really off season anymore.

This is so true - books up right away, but then as the months go on, plenty opens up again. Just need to keep checking. Have always gotten just what we wanted, even booking in Sept/Oct.

In June we wanted WL Courtyard for early December at a AAA rate, but nothing was available - 2 weeks ago had a choice of nearly any resort. It really can change almost daily.

All will be well!! Good luck on getting just what you want! :)

I really hope that you guys are right and that they just have not released all the rooms yet. I think that if I can not get the WL we will just stay at a Value or moderate.
