Running man was fired. Apparently not enough casual snapshooters wanted to take photos of a running person, so he wasn't representing the sport scene mode well enough. They replaced him with a new representative, called "Kids and Pets", and an icon that looks like a boy's head and a dog. Apparently they felt more people wanted to take photos of the family dog or their kids whipping around the yard, so they would ebtter represent the sports scene mode.
It's still the same scene mode, just a new name and icon! Essentially, it is a sort of "shutter priority" mode, where it will attempt to use a faster shutter speed by adjusting the aperture or ISO as needed to get a fast shutter. You could manually achieve a similar effect by going to Tv mode, which would allow you to set the shutter speed at 1/250 or 1/500, and let the camera pick the aperture and ISO necessary to get the shot.
Or, just use the "Kids and Pets" icon!
