By the way, is there a special thread for S10 IS? Bought one for my DD, and it's driving me crazy. I thought for a bit that I might upgrade my S3 to the S10 but I'm thinking not now.
Has anyone got any pictures of fireworks, that they have taken. Please share
Also if you could what setting and speed

Hi there -- just got a SX110 IS and want to figure out some basic features for our upcoming trip. Best settings for vibrant colour, action shots and portraits.

It seems that when I now plug my camera into my computer, I hear the little "bing bong" that tells me there is new hardware but my Canon import utility (you know, the one that came with the camera?) does not launch. When I launch it manually, it does not recognize my camera.
BUT, when I go to "My Computer" I can find it and manually download pictures there.
What might be wrong? Do you think this is a computer problem?
Also how is the S3/S5 for action pics? I don't need pro quality but if you took pics of any sports, I would be interested in your thoughts and pics. TIA.
Anyone have or upgrade to the SX10 IS? If so can you please post your thoughts on the camera and some pics.

Hello everyone, it's been a while since I've contributed anything on this thread. Thought I'd drop by again and share a couple of pictures taken yesterday:

I just bought the SX10 for my DD, and I have the S3. The SX10 takes wonderful pics, and the zoom is terrific. My Raynox telephoto lens can't touch the SX10. The pics are really detailed, and focuses much more quickly in low light situations. There are some disadvantages to the SX10, however. I must say they couldn't have possibly come up with a worse lens cap. It's hard to clip it back on to the lens, and there's no tether when you remove it. I much prefer the "toggle" on the S3 instead of the scroll wheel to change settings on the SX10. Also, I prefer the S3 display switch being the same as the photo switch. On the SX10, you have to push a different button to display the photo in the LCD. Also, with the SX10, you can't add lenses or filters as the end of the lens isn't threaded. If Canon would combine the functionality of the S3 with the technology of the SX10, it would be a great camera.
Let's see if I can remember how to get pics on here.....okay apparently not. On photobucket, what code do I use to get pics here?
Oh yes, I completely forgot about that darn lens cap on the SX10. I hate it! I'm sure I'll lose it soon. They DO have a little clip on it so you can clip it onto the camera strap, but I was used to the tether on my S3. I'm hoping once DH's work lets up a bit maybe he can come up with a similar tether for this lens cap.
your pics look similar to mine![]()
