Today's Special Value on QVC is a Canon Rebel T5 with a camera bag, the camera body and 2 lenses (plus memory card, extra software). I have had Kodak, Nikon, Fuji and Pentax cameras before but this is my first Canon.

Can't wait to give it a real workout at WDW in Fall 2016.

Am I going to be pleased? I don't plan on anything professional looking but I do like great pics to reserve memories.... and sometimes enlarge

I had an old canon 35 mm, canon rebel xs, and now have an canon 7D (original) and G7x (took G7X to WDW in February this year.....it took some amazing pictures of fireworks and parades!). I have been very pleased with the quality of images that the canon produces, including low light/night. I think it is fun to play around with all the settings to try and figure out what works. I've been able to enlarge my prints with no compromises on image quality, too. I hope that you like your new camera!

Cameta.com and Adorama.com have bundles for the T5.... They (depending on the site, it might be both) give you more than just the bag and 2 kit lenses with the body...

Anyway, enjoy, let us know what you think of it!

I believe this is the model we have. We got it in July or August as a bundle from either QVC or HSn. It is WONDERFUL!!

mousehockey37, same bundle and same price on both sites since I didn't mention some of the extras previously.

I gather that custom settings will take better pictures than leaving it on AUTO all the time? How does it do with macro shots?

Changing it out of auto will only get you better pictures if you can choose better settings than the camera can. I've seen better than the Auto on a T5, but it's quite good.

For Macro, use your 18-55 mm lens zoomed all the way in and it's pretty competent. While no match for a dedicated macro lens, among non-macro lenses it's noteworthy for its relatively good macro capability - both the Canon and Nikon 18-55 lenses both do quite well, actually.
