Canon Rebel Owners....

I just got my T1i about a month ago. I have:

kit lens EF-S 18-55mm
EF-S 55mm-250
EF 50mm f/1.8

So far I love them all. Since I'm just getting started (this is my first SLR) I'm still playing around a lot, but I am starting to see how each one has it's purpose. Especially the 50mm.

There are a lot of people on here with far more lenses in their collection. My lens lust started with the 50mm, so I'm good for now.

See signature.

I like both of my lenses, but I shoot with the 30mm most of the time. I need a nice longer lens. Thinking 70-200 f/2.8 at some point, but need to save up for that.

I have a Xsi and my most used lens is a 24-105 but my favorite is a 10-22, the photos this lens allows are so interesting!

I have some other lenses but the only other one I usually carry is a 70-200 f/4. If I am really going for small & light I put the 18-55 on the camera and that is all I take.

I have an XSI, and my lenses are
18-55 IS kit lens
Sigma 18-200 OS
50 mm
Tokina 10-17 fisheye

my next will be the Canon 100mm macro.

I don't have a favorite, but I use the Sigma the most.

With my XSi I have the following lenses:

Canon 17-55 f2.8 IS
Canon 50 f1.8
Canon 70-200 f4 IS

With the most used lens being the 17-55mm.

I just got my Canon Digital Rebel (300D) a few months ago. I have the kit lens and a Sigma 70-300mm lens. I keep the kit lense on and use it most of the time but I actually prefer using the 70-300mm because it has farily decent macro capability. I'm still debating if my next purchase is going to be a body or a lens upgrade.

I have three Canon lenses. 70-200 f/4 L IS, 17-55 f/2.8 IS, 50 1.4. Among those lenses the 17-55 is my favorite.

cheating since i just got another body but when i had my xt i liked my 70-200 f4 best. it was a little long but love the color and sharpness and i like taking macro shots standing up( the focus distance is approx 4 ft) i used my 28-135 most just due to the range but never really loved the lens. i still have a crop camera but to me the 17-50 is just to short for me, my fav focal length is around 100mm, i want to see the whites of their eyes i guess ;)

I have the XSI with the 18-55 kit lens and 55-250 lens.
Not that I really know what I'm doing with any of this! :confused3
I just take pictures and hope they turn out well.

WOW!!!! Seems like a lot of people have the 50mm lens. At other forums i visit, it seems like a very popular choice. I might think about getting one. I bought my first DSLR a couple of months ago.... the T1i. I only have the the 18-55mm that came with it though.

I have the Canon XTI/400D and have the 18-55IS lens, 55-200IS, and just recently purchased my first prime lens 50mm 1.8.

I am on the hunt for a wide angle lens.

I have the xt with the basic kit lens and the 70-300is-I probably use the 300 most because a large portion of my shots are of kids sporting events and I need the distance-will be adding the 50mm before Sept dis trip (debating a body upgrade too)

I own the Canon Rebel XSi and the following lenses:

Canon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens
Canon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6
Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro lens
Sigma 30mm f/1.4

On the want list is either the 24-70 f/2.8L or 24-105 f/4L

It's really hard to choose a favorite but I'm almost leaning towards my Sigma 30mm f/1.4. I used a friend's 50mm f/1.8 (nifty fifty) but decided it wasn't really for me- I couldn't stand the 50mm for indoors and love the 30mm because it's wider. I figured if I was going to spend $100 on a lens that I'd eventually replace with the Sigma, I might as well just go for the Sigma and I LOVE it.

I'm a huge fan of macro photography so the 100mm macro is also a big favorite . I've gotten some amazing shots with it, but it's not as versatile. If you don't love macro photography it probably wouldn't be worth it to you.

And you can't beat the 18-200mm for a great walkaround lens.

I don't use my kit lens anymore at all :rotfl: I'm keeping it incase my 18-200 ever needs repairs!

I pretty much use my lenses for different situations. The one that gets the most use is the 18-200mm but I use the Sigma 30mm a lot at weddings, indoors and taking pictures of people. Macro gets used the least but I'm constantly amazed at the pictures it produces.

i just saw a rumor that canon has a 60d and new rebel coming out to be announced in sept...so body prices of the present one models may be going down some just in case anyone is thinking of a purchase.

I have a Canon Rebel XTi with

Canon EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 USM kit lens
Canon EF 75-300mm f 4-5.6 III USM
Canon EF 70-200mm f 2.8L
Canon EF 50mm f 1.8
Sigma 17-70mm f 2.8-4.5 DC Macro

I love them all, they have all taken some great photos, but the Sigma is almost always on the camera, being the most versatile.

My next purchase will probably be a teleconverter for the 70-200mm.

I have an ORIGINAL Canon Digital Rebel 300D. No bloody X, T, S, or I, as Scotty might say \\//_

I currently own only three lenses for it:
Canon 18-55 EF-S kit lens which I rarely use

Canon 55-250 EF-S IS which I bought for a dessert photography trip and hardly used (Wanna buy it? :) )

Sigma 18-125 which I use all the time as my walkaround lens, from family gatherings to WDW vacations to most of my dessert photo trip in April.

I love the Sigma's 18-125 range, but it's a little softer than I like and a lot noisier than the Canon lenses when focusing (noise-noise, not image noise). I hope to eventually step up to the Canon 18-200 EF-S IS lens as my walkaround, though I haven't actually played with one yet so I don't know how well I'll like it. 18-200 is a WIDE range of zoom and I expect to see a lot of vigneting, but if it's equal to or better than my Sigma 18-125, I'll be ecstatic with it.

I own the Canon Rebel XSi and the following lenses:

Canon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens
Canon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6
Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro lens
Sigma 30mm f/1.4

On the want list is either the 24-70 f/2.8L or 24-105 f/4L

Karen, I see that you've got the Canon 18-200 I've been dreaming of. Could you give me some more details about it, like sharpness, weight and balance, smoothness of the zoom ring, and how well the IS system works? Maybe post an image or two - I'm particularly interested in vignetting at the wide end of the zoom range. Just whatever you feel like sharing - I don't expect a novella! TIA.

Alrighty... here goes. This is what I could come up with short notice (I know if I don't reply now I'll just get distracted and not reply at all!).

Sharpness- I think it's pretty sharp for not being L series, but maybe my eye isn't professional enough ;)

Weight- not light at 1.3lbs but it's not enough to deter me from using it all the time. I'm a relatively small female (albeit in shape) and have carried the camera with me all day before. I plan on bringing it with me to Disney on my 9 day trip coming up in September.

Zoom ring- very smooth but I've had some creeping recently. When hung around my neck, the zoom tends to slip out (I've had the lens for 8 months now). I need to send it in or have someone look at it probably, but I don't want to part with it for any period of time!

IS- love the IS system. I borrowed a friend's 70-300 with no IS and I couldn't stand it! I never use a tripod so this was a must for me.

Here are a few examples (best I could find quickly!):

(I didn't use a tripod on any of these).
