Canon PowerShot sx30is?

Does anyone have the Canon PowerShot sx30is? I'm looking for a good camera & originally wanted the Rebel, but I'm not necessarily going to be using different lenses etc. I just want good pictures Thanks!

I don't know about that specific model but our family swears by Canon Pwershots - we have at least 6 of them amongst us & everyone loves them, and the quality of the pictures they take.

I just bought this camera a few weeks ago. So far, I like it. Admittedly, I haven't tried out too many of the options yet.

The only complaint I have with it so far is that the pop-up flash is right where I would normally put my left index finger so it's a little awkward.

This camera got good reviews from Consumer Reports' Shop Smart magazine, which is why I got it. I also lucked out with it being Amazon's Deal of the Day around Thanksgiving time so I got it for $199.

You might look around on dpreview for reviews...

I really like Canon Point and Shoots and Canon or Nikon DSLRs.

The S95 is another one to consider. Great pictures.

We have the previous version of the SX30is which was the SX20is. It was one of Consumer Reports highest rated models in the line at the time and we love this camera!! It takes amazing shots and the digital zoom is incredible!! Looks like the newer model has even further zoom capabilities (ours only has 20x opitical and the new one has 35x wide zoom!) plus it has HD capabilities which ours does not.

We dropped it during our vacation last year after only having a bit over 1 year and ended up sending it back to Canon for repair (it was about $159 to fix it) and we're so glad we did. Love this camera and we have 2 other friends who also have the same model!

I have had it for about 3 weeks now...I owned an earlier version the SXi10 and loved that camera, so far I don't like it as well as the 10 but that is probably because I was more used to that camera, I swear by them, the quality of photos is great as well as the zoom capabilities, I wanted a good camera that took great zoom pictures without lugging and changing lenses...the camera was recomended to me by a photographer friend. I am sure I will love the 30 as much as the 10 after I play with it some! I think the powershots are fantastic.
