Canon PowerShot SX130-IS

I am looking for an easy-to-use Point & Shoot camera that would work at least somewhat well for Disney night-time parades and fireworks. I currently have a Sony Cyber-Shot and am not very happy with it. Besides the night-time pictures being terrible, I also have blurry pictures alot!! Came across a Canon PowerShot SX130-IS. Can anyone tell me if this is a good camera and it would work with the night-time parades and fireworks....and quality of pictures in general?

For nighttime shots you need a tripod. If not than you need to set the camera's ISO up higher for a hand held shot. Does your camera have a nighttime scene mode or bulb mode? I guess what I'm asking is have you tried to go into the cameras settings for the one you currently have?

It has a Twilight mode and a Fireworks mode. I've tried them and still get terrible pictures. Maybe I'm just expecting too much out of a Point & Shoot??
