Canon IXUS 900 Ti Digital Camera (SD900 IN USA)

Hiya Everyone

Pretty much still deciding on a compact camera, and from the many problemswith my last camera it is now time to change. The "Canon IXUS 900 Ti Digital Camera" is the camera I want but need a push in the right direction.

Just wondering if any had any experiance with the camera (I have read reviews on countless sites)

Still can not understand if it has image stabalisation

My understanding is it does not. I believe the 900 is the 10 mp version, correct? The SD800 here in the States (IXUS 800 accross the pond?) is 7 mp and does have image stabilization, plus a 28mm lens to take a bit wider angle photo.

Its the SD900

Yeah the IXus 850/800 Your SD800/850 does have image stailisation. It makes no sense for them to take it out of the SD900?

they probably couldn't get it all to fit in the SD900 body.

I just purchased the SD800IS because I was told that the SD900 does not have image stabilization.

It's a shame, I hear the SD900 has lots of great features, looks like I'll have to go for the SD800 myself unless i find some good reviews.

Even if the only difference is megapixels, I'd go with the lower one. 10mp is just too much to ask from the small sensor that PnSs use. Everything else being equal, the higher the mp, the more noise in the image.

Besides, if you really need more than a 5 or 6 or even 7 mp image, a pocket camera is definitely not for you!

I was told (at Best Buy for what it worth) it was a trade off on the SD900 to have 10mp versus image stabiliation. I do like the SD800 has IS and the ability to manually change the ISO to 1600. Makes night shots like I took at an Aerosmith concert come out nice.
