Canoeing at FW?

Has anyone else canoed at FW? What were your experiences....how are the canals? Any alligators?

Yes have canoed at FW. No alligators. Water level has been low. Canal system wanders through FW. Private craft is prohibited, must rent canoes at Bike Barn.
Anybody remember the Marshmellow Marsh? Canoed from Meadows area down to lake for campfire, singing and the electrical water pageant. I was very young.
