Thank you for all of your suggestions and comments to my question yesterday about splitting up our stay between two resorts. After much thought (and obsession) about this we have decided to stick with one resort.
NOW... we have narrowed the options to BCR and YC. I am turning to you all for your expertise and knowledge as we are amatures at this Disney thing. Is one resort better for families with small kids or are they both the same??

We will be going for 5 nights (maybe 6) and will be bringing our 2 year old son (who will be 2 weeks shy of turning 3 at the time of our trip). We are going in September during value season (and hopefully a less crowed time) Also, we decided to book a concierge room (thanks to this board and all of your rave reviews about it).

We were also considering reserving a suite at the BCR -- we are concerned about sleeping schedule with DS -- we don't want to sit in a dark room with nothing to do at 8pm when he goes to sleep (or when he naps in the day). With a suite we will at least have another room to escape to. Also, I don't think he would ever fall asleep with us in the room with him. Any thoughts? Is it worth the extra money?

THANK YOU ALL AGAIN... ANY suggestions you can give me will be much appreciated!!!!

The Beach Club is a little more relaxed than Yacht Club. YC is more formal. But, both are great for kids. Have you considered trying to either rent DVC points from a member or just trying to book a one bedroom unit? That might be an option for you. If you want to know more about point renting, go over to the DVC board and go over to the renting points board. Lots of good knowledge there.

I had the same problem, we couldn't decide either. :teeth:

I finally with with the BC, we have been inside the YC and I thought it was too formal for us. Amy in the concierge office has been great.

Have fun, although you may get spoiled like our family and will only ever want to stay on the concierge level! :hyper:

I think the YC has more of the bigger balconies. I know BC has a lot of the small - standing only balconies. Don't know if that is important to you or not.

We also liked the Beach Club atmosphere better than YC. We are going back to BC this year. I've never had the opportunity to stay in a suite, but if it's in your budget, I would go for it. I was so exhausted, I conked out right away, but sometimes DH was wound up and wanted to watch TV but it kept the DD's awake, since we were all in the same room.

:D

Thanks to all of you who replied! I think we will opt for the BCR! I just started looking into the Beach Club Villas and they seem perfect as far as room is concerned... but are they far away from the rest of the happenings? Do you get service in the room like you would if you stayed at the resort (cleaning service ect.)? Will discounts (VISA and/or Annual Pass) apply to these rooms?

Thank you again!

BCV is no further from some of the happenings than the Bridge to Swan/Dolphin side of YC is - in fact, if you are at the far end of BCV, you can park right next to your villa (almost) and have a good chance at a partial view of Epcot as well

If you rent DVC points to stay at BCV, you get trash n towel on day four of your stay - if your stay>8 days you get full cleaning on day 4 and trash n towel on day 8

Many of us DVC'ers will either wash the towels (1 or 2BR units have washer and drter) in the unit or pay for extra trash n towel days or full cleaning days (this can be set up with the BC housekeeping/front desk on arrival day)

Even with discounts, it can be often cheaper to rent from a willing renter on the DVC rent board than to pay cash rates + tax to WDW - the discounts on these rooms are somewhat limited

If you want to get an idea of cost PM me and I will advise the points to stay in a 1 or 2BR for your dates so you can get an idea (I do not rent my points but happy to help out with your appx $$)

thanks
