Cannon PowerShot A1100 IS ~ anyone have this??

I am looking to buy a new digital camera for our trip in July. I own a Kodak Z740, it's about 4-5 years olds, only a 5mp with a 10x zoom. It takes great pics in the daylight, but inside of buildings and at night it is a real struggle. I am looking for a camera that takes decent pics in lowlight settings (doesn't have to be professional but at least be able to tell what the picture is!), I would also like a smaller camera than the Kodak I have. I have been reading up on this board and the Cannon PowerShot seems to get good reviews. I didn't know if anyone had used this particular model yet or not, I think it is new. It is a 12mp which is quite an upgrade from mine, but only a 4x zoom. Will I regret going down in zoom? Will the extra MP make up for the difference in zoom? Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh, I don't want to spend over $250. Thanks!!

well, the website doesn't have a review of the camera that I think I am going to buy..Canon Powershot SD1200 IS ELPH. I think it is brand new on the market, hence no reviews. The reviews of the one you are considering A1000IS are pretty mixed. That led to me to the SD1200 instead.

I was thinking about buying the 1100IS. The price is right, but the reviews on Amazon weren't so hot. I currently have an A570IS, so an upgrade to the newer DIGIC system would have been nice.

Did you look at the Canon E1? I did end up buying one of those instead. They come in colors (yay!), and got excellent reviews on Amazon. I think it's a more 'basic' camera, but perfect for what I need.
