I have a few questions about my camera. Although I love the camera and what is can do, I am having a few problems.
1. When I take pictures indoors and the flash does not go off, the pictures sometimes come out darker than they look through the view in using auto.
2. When I use a flash in manual the pictures come out too light and slightly too dark without it.
3. I used the underwater scene for pictures at a pool and they came out looking grainy.
4. When I use the zoom feature on the camera the pictures come out looking grainy.

I'm no expert - just a hobbyist, but I do have the Canon A630 and love it, and I'm assuming yours is similar. I'll try to respond where I know something:

As long as you're using mode "P" instead of "Auto", you can change the intensity of the flash. My understanding is that if you know anything at all about cameras, then you shouldn't be using "Auto" because there are certain things you just can't control or change with that setting.

3. I used the underwater scene for pictures at a pool and they came out looking grainy.
Were you actually using the camera in the separate waterproof case and taking pictures under water? That is what this scene is for, so if you're just at a pool and not actually under water, you wouldn't want this setting.

4. When I use the zoom feature on the camera the pictures come out looking grainy.
Are you using digital zoom? If so, that would be the reason for the grainy pictures. I turn my digital zoom off. It's really useless as you can always zoom and crop with software later after you take the picture.
