what do I add to them to make them more like restaurant beans? The canned ones are not nice and smooth. thanks

I've always just added a little bit of water, not more than a 1/4 cup

I like to put them in a pan, and add about half a bottle of salsa. Warm to bubbly and serve! Sometimes I'll add velveeta in too.

I only get vegetarian ones, the others are made with lard :scared1:

When I make mine, I mush them with a fork, but never add anything liquid to them, unless you count cheese.

You can also use your hand mixer to make them smoother right in the pan without adding anything. It makes them taste a little lighter too.

we use the food processor and add salsa.
DD hates chunks

That's what I do, sans the velvetta, but I also add some sour cream in the end.

Adding some pico de gallo or even just cilantro would make them better.
