I must confess, we have never been in one of Disney's candy stores!! and I am realizing that we have missed out on a truly sweet expierience!! :teeth: We have done the bakery circuit and well... yummmmm  but now I want to expand our horizens and venture into the world of candy! :bitelip: So what would you say is the creme de la creme of candy shops?? goofys candy cauldron at Downtown Disney came up quite a bit, but I want to know what the experts really think. :teacher:

Once you have narrowed it down to a favorite, what do you get??

And finally, because, alas, I am merely a mother and not a tycoon, how much should I budget for our family of 5... (honestly!) :listen:

So, I'll be waiting for your replies :surfweb: so that I may make the "envelop" officially.

I have only been to Goofy's in DD and the candy store on the boardwalk..not sure what it is called though! I am a candy freak. Love it more than real food. Anyway, Goofy's was alot of fun. I picked out a rice krispy treat and had it dipped in milk chocolate, then drizzled with white chocolate and caramel, then covered in m&m's. It was so sweet it was sickening! But I still ate it. :lmao: They also have any candy you could possible want; gummys, sours, licorice. You can't go wrong there. It was just my DH and myself and we spent, like $40, but we had enough candy to last the week and kinda went a little crazy! ;) . Oh, don't forget to try the fudge. We always go in Nov/Dec and they had THE BEST peppermint fudge. OMG! We bought 2 pounds of it! (it was expensive, I think it was close to $9 a pound!)

Love the sweets! Don't pass up an opportunity to try the peanut butter fudge at either MK or at the BWI. Totally awesome - melts in your mouth.

Chocolate and caramel covered marshmallow sticks. Marshmallow stick with caramel on top, covered with chocolate. My son loves the chocolate covered marshmallows. My husband loves the large rocky road cups (about $3 each) or the big peanut butter cups. Or the pecan or peanut clusters.

Then there is the salt water taffy at the MK Confectionary. Don't like the watermelon flavor. But I love the Goofy (lime), Donald (lemon) and Mickey (cherry) ones. You can squeeze a whole bunch into the smaller sized bag for $2.95 a bag.

The Best Carmel Apples in DD at the Candy Cauldron!

And drum roll ...........Ghardelli just introduced a dark chocolate hot fudge sundee! :cool1:

4 weeks until I go home* for 2 weeks! :thumbsup2 :moped: :moped: :moped: :moped: :moped: :moped:

*ahhhh*
Our family ALWAYS stops at the Confectionery on Main Street at MK, on our way out of the park for a late-night snack. Everyone has their favorite treat. I LOVE the rice crispie mickey heads.

The Candy Cauldron on the West side of Downtown is a MUST, also. DH LOVES the fudge!!! and I always get a carmel apple. (They'll slice it for you, if you ask!)

Without a doubt..
:stir: CANDY CAULDRON :stir:
The BEST Candy apples in the WORLD (and I am the unofficial Candy Apple queen)

Become friends with the Candy store CMs... you might get lucky and they'll let you try some of it!
(I always get to try all fudges at DLP, yummy!!!) (and I always end up buying the plain chocolate one)

My opinion is that Goofy's Candy Store is #1!!!! :thumbsup2 The candy is great BUT you also just HAVE TO try the cookies... They're to die for!!!!!
I agree with "PrincessPiglet" that you should try the fudge. We got ours from the Boardwalk... Seashore Sweets.... and the fudge was great. Have fun and stock up on the goodies to enjoy at home!!!!!!

Goofy's Candy Company in Downtown Disney is a lot of fun! :goofy:

You can write up a menu to have a cm create a candy for you. You pick the base product (marshmallows, a cookie, a pretzel, etc.) and decide what toppings it should get after they dip it in chocolate. :goodvibes

They also have the giant pixie-sticks and lots of other candies.

There are Icee drinks you can buy, too. You pick your character cup (you can mix and match feet and hats if you want to) and the cm will fill it with an Icee. They have a variety of flavors, and the cups are fun souveniers.
