I know many bring candy to give the CM's signing autographs, but what kind is most appreciated?

Well, everyone's tastes are different. I don't think there is a way to know what a CMs favorite candy is. I would suggest bringing a few different things.

I read on a thread that people buy those 8pack sleeves for abour $1. Usually they are chocolate candy. I would just be concerned about when you travel due to melting.

Instead of candy, why not add a tip?

Some people may not eat candy. Others may prefer some different kind of sweet.

I always put a bag of chocolate m&m's with the pillowcases that I wanted to be signed.

For the candy bag that I gave to CMs signing autographs, I included a variety of candy/treats bought from Target.

* chocolates
* small packs of gum
* small bags of Oreos, Chips Ahoy...etc.

I have read that other things characters (or all other CMs who don't get tips) appreciate include:

* salty snacks
* international calling cards

HTH!

We gave them bags of Hershey Miniatures - they went over well.

We gave our servers and stateroom host huge Hershey Kisses with their tips - they LOVED them and couldn't stop tahnking us for the chocolate.

I don't know, but I doubt Guest Services will be able to take a cash tip.

GS cannot and AFAIK they don't do the signing, only pass on the item's to the Characters or friend's of the Characters to sign, and the Characters and friend's of Characters cannot accept cash tip's.

We left a bunch of chocolate and were told a few times that it was much appreciated. I had bought a bag (like at Halloween) of Reese's, Tootsie Rolls, Hershey bars, etc....

HTH,
Dreams

We got bags of assorted candy bars for the signatures.
We gave out stateroom host a couple of different types of trail mix.

We do assortments of Twix, M&M's, Reese's, etc. and also always do salty snacks like Cheez-its, Pringles & pretzels - that way there is something for everyone's taste!
We also randomly hand them out to crew that we see around the ship. Maintenance guys LOVE to get snacks & are always so happily surprised!
Next cruise we're sending a bag of goodies down to the engine room!

oops.

Yikes. Skittles might be a good option. Now if he knew he was lactose intolerant, why would he eat the chocolate? :confused3

My wife read somewhere that microwave popcorn is good but then I'm reading there aren't microwaves on the ship due to sensitive fire control systems (maybe only those for public use?). Has anyone else done popcorn?

I remember reading somewhere that the CMs appriecated Popcorn because it was a hard commodity to get (so is gum) - I would think they would have at least one microwave onboard in their quarters???
I had been thinking about popcorn as well.:3dglasses

That is a FABULOUS idea! We're leaving in a little under 2 weeks, I have many sandwich bags with assorted chocolates and gum to hand out to CMs. I might have to steal your idea and send some down to the people behind the scenes! :)
