We will be going in December which will our first trip during this time of year. I have read some and heard a little about the infamous candy canes made at DL. So how can we go about getting some of these without standing in line for half the trip? Can VP arrange getting these for us and have them in the room? Advice and strategies are appreciated!

I doubt VP could do that for you since the candy canes are only made once every 2 weeks or so during the holiday period. They haven't put out the schedule yet for this year, and I wouldn't expect to see it until the beginning of November. I would prepare yourself for the fact that they might not even be making them during your visit.

What are these special candy canes? I am not sure I have ever heard of them.

When we were there last December (Dec. 3rd-5th), we just walked in and bought them at the candy shop on main street. :confused3 There was no line.

Maybe we just got lucky and didn't know it?

You must have gotten lucky. They cost $8.00 apiece and they only make them on weekends and only a certain number. We stood and watched for almost 2 hours, then stood in line to buy some. They would only let you buy like 4 per person, I think. As far as I know, if you're not in line, you don't get any as they go fast.

I was also wondering if VP would get one or two of these for us for our room. Anybody out there know for sure?

That was one of my original questions in the post and I am wondering if anyone has used VP specifically for this. It is our tenth anniversary and I thought it would be cool to have them be delivered and waiting for us when we got there.

Here is the schedule from last year for the days they made the candy canes:

Friday, November 23
Saturday, December 8
Friday, December 14
Saturday, December 22

The first batch was available about 1 hour after park opening, the 2nd between Noon and 2 pm.

They make only between 30-45 candy canes per batch, and have in the past limited them to 2 per person. So if you are more than 15 people back in line, you don't have a great chance at getting one.

You could always call the Disneyland Candy Line at 714-781-0112 closer to the beginning of November to see if dates are being disclosed. Last year they released the info around the second week of November.

HTH.

I don't have an actual picture of the candy canes (my family wouldn't let me stay around and wait for them....they wanted to get on the rides....;) ) but here is a pic of them making the candy canes.

It is really neat to watch.

We got there right when they began and there were people waiting in line already! :scared1:

Do You have a photo of the finished product?

Thanks for the photos!!

I do have to ask -- please do not flame me-- since I am not a huge fan a candy canes in general (I like them to decorate with but have never been a big fan of eating them) are these really that good? Are they the normal flavor?
