Has anyone stayed at the Candy Cane Inn? We booked there for our trip in September. Any info or reviews??

I have stayed there a couple of times. It is a very nice older U shaped motel that was remodeled in the early 90's and has a slight southern garden (New Orleans) theme. It is two story and has exterior corridors. The rooms are not real big but are decorated really nice, particularly for a motel. The room was comfortable and quiet. They have a small pool, wadeing pool and hot tub in a garden setting in the middle of the parkinglot. They have a good free breakfast with seating next to the pool area. The property is located on the same block as the Disney Parks (is fairly close to DCA) and is about a 7 minute walk to the front gates. They also have their own private shuttle to and from the shuttle area at the parks.

We LOVE the CCI!!!! Cannot say enough good things about it! Fridges in the rooms, (not sure if it is all the rooms, or just suites, but the suite was CHEAP!!!) The beds are amazing. Down comforters and pillows. I actually would have said the rooms are big. Not your standard hotel room IMHO. The contintental breakfast is the biggest and best and I wouldn't say it is the traditional continental. Great fruit selection, etc. We loved it. And having its own, designated shuttle turned out to be a big deal. We saw busses pull up and let people off who then had to walk to their hotel. WIth this bus, there are several stops withint the hotel, so you never had to walk very far. We stay here EVERY SINGLE time we go. (The last time was over a year ago, but it is still tops with us!!!)

We just stayed at Candy Cane couple weeks ago for the first time and will DEFINITELY go back! It is the prettiest, nicest hotel in it's price range, period.

Great bedding....nice toiletries....good breakfast (except the woman that stole all my families bagels from the toaster)...pool is WARM....just a great place!

Belle2002, DH and I will also be staying at the CCI for the first time in late September. We can't wait!

Can anyone tell me more about how the Candy Cane's shuttle service works? Do they drop you near the front gates of DL or do you need to catch a DL shuttle from the parking lot area? How early/late/often do the CCI's shuttles run? Is it quicker to walk or ride to DL from CCI?

Whne we were there the shuttle service was posted as every 30 minutes but they seemed to do in more in 20 minute incraments. The shuttle stop at the Candy can is just out side of the check in to the right. They drop off in the shuttle drop off area where all the other shuttles leave off their patrons, including Disney. After you leave the shuttle you will have a 2 - 3 minute walk to the gates..or less if you are excited and walking fast.

Excited and walking fast? That's me, the minute my feet are on Disney property! DH still finds it amusing that his generally pokey DW goes into warp speed upon entering the parks. lol

Anyway, daannzz, thanks for the info on the shuttle service from CCI. It sounds like it's going to be really convenient!

CCI is actually closer to the front gate of Disneyland than the Disneyland Hotel. It's a quick walk if you don't feel like waiting for the shuttle.

We just stayed there exactly one week ago. It was wonderful...one of the nicer hotel staffs I've ever encountered and the rooms were lovely.

aprincessmom, Would love to hear more details about your stay there if you're willing to share. Did you walk to the parks or make use of the shuttle? What type of room were you in? What eating places are within walking distance? Can you see any fireworks from CCI? etc. etc. (Can you tell I'm just a wee bit excited about going? ) Thanks much!
