We are thinking about staying at the CCI for our next trip in October. We've never stayed there before, but the reviews I've read all seem quite good. We like that they have a shuttle, but how far of a walk is it to the main gates? We stayed at Hojo's last time, so I'm wondering if its further or about the same distance in the other direction. Also, it says they have a kiddie pool, but none of the photos I've seen show it. Do they still have one? and is it close by the bigger pool? One of the issues we had with Hojo was that the water play area and the main pool were in different areas, making it difficult for us with the ages of our kids.
I'd love to hear others experience with the CCI. Also the Best Western Park Place might be another option, I love the location and that they have mini-suites. Oh decisions, decisions!!:)

We've stayed there a few times and really like it. It's about the same distance as Hojo only in the opposite direction. I didn't even realize that they had a toddler/wading pool until i saw someone else talking about it since we've never used the pool area. I believe it's behind the hot tub area. So there's the regular pool, then the gazebo with hot tub are in the middle and the kiddie pool on the other side - all in a row, from what i can tell. I don't know if you saw this thread already but here's a review my sister did of CCI and there's lots of pictures. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2532780&highlight=candy+cane+inn+review+with+pictures

I've stayed at both the CCI & HoJo, if the HoJo was booked I always checked the CCI as my second choice. :)
The walk from both was the exactly the same for us, 7 minutes. It was very very easy to do. We walked in the morning and took the shuttle back at night, worked out GREAT!

We stayed at HoJo our first 3 visits to DLR- and then changed to CCI. CCI is now our official Disneyland home-away-from-home. The walk is nice and quick, no busy roads to cross. The best part is the breakfast, 2 very nice convenience stores next door and the SubWay across the street. If you happen to have a character breakfast booked at Paradise Pier or GC, they are both an easy walk and you don't have to go thru Downtown Disney.

I think if you stay there you will fall in love with it too.

Great -we have booked a weeks stay in a couple of months. We want to do character breakfast at PPH - would you walk along Katella to get there or cut through the GCH?

Thanks for the replies!! I'm so excited now, I wish I didn't have to wait until October, it seems SOOOO far away:-(

LavenderPeach..thanks so so so much for the link to the trip report! It was exactly what I was looking for and answered all of my questions!! Awesome photos and report!!!:)

When leaving the hotel, turn right at the drive-way and right again by the 7-11. I guess that is Katella :thumbsup2... never thought about it.
We prefer to go that way because otherwise you have to go thru the Esplanade security check, thru Downtown Disney, the GCH and across the street to PP.

If you do go to PP for the character breakfast make sure you try the pineapple scones. OMG. YUM-O!
