Does anyone recommend this hotel? Is it within walking distance of the parks? If not how is the transportation? Thanks so much!

It is considered one of the better walking distance hotels and to my knowledge has the best and most reliable shuttle service to DLR.

Highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are nice, the staff is nice, you get a free breakfast and an exclusive shuttle to and from the parks. It is also on the same side of the street as the park, so you don't have to cross Harbor if you walk.

Yup, stayed there a few times. In fact, staying there next week too :-). I've finally convinced my mom to spend three full days at DL. The most we've ever done is two. Woo hoo!

We atayed there 5 years ago and liked it. The free breakfast was very nice as was the shuttle service. The rooms are a tad small and so is the pool, but other than that we really liked it.

It used to have quite a following here but seems to have faded somewhat in favour of HoJos... It is about the same walk as HoJos but has outside corridors, smaller rooms and smaller pool and quite a bit more expensive... Has nice grounds, includes breakfast and a good shuttle service.

We stayed a few minutes up the road at the Best Value Inn and for about $50 a night less we got a one bedroom suite with a nice pool...

We stayed there once, we liked it but we tend to stay at the HoJo for $59 a night instead of the CCI for $100+. We liked the free bfast (which HoJo does not offer) and we loved the free dedicated shuttle (which HoJo does not have), our room was small but it worked fine for us, the staff was very friendly and the parking is free at CCI. It's the same distance as the HoJo so for us about a 7 min walk but no worries about crossing the street since it's on the same side. We liked the CCI and when the HoJo did not have the Ent Rate ($59/69/99 a night) we always checked their availability before checking anywhere else. Unfortunately for us, when the HoJo's awesome rate was gone the CCI was normally all booked up for our stays. lol We would stay there again for sure.

Like Pixiewings, I prefer it to Hojos (for the same reasons that she does), but will stay at Hojos if I can get the $59 rate. CCI is my favorite off property place to stay.

Candy Cane is one of my favorite hotels in the area! It's always nice, clean, and the breakfast is the best continental breakfast of any of the Harbor Blvd. hotels. Parking is free, which is becoming a rarity in the area.

The rooms are nicely appointed with good beds. The grounds are lovely.

It's an easy walk--probably the equivalent of 3-4 blocks--takes about 7-10 minutes. Having a free shuttle every half hour is a huge plus, too. It's a nice option at the end of the day if your feet are tired.

When you figure in the free parking, free breakfast, and free shuttle, the price is comparable--if not better--than most of the surrounding motels. You can usually get a slightly better rate by calling the hotel directly, particularly if you have AAA, or mention a special occasion, etc.

The only drawback? The rooms are small and can get crowded if you have 4 people. If you have a family of 5 or more, forget it, unless you get two rooms.

Other than that, I would highly recommend it!!!
