Hi - I'm having great difficulty deciding between the Candy Cane Inn and the Howard Johnson kids suite. Both hotels have received great reviews. A separate room for the kids at the HoJo a great draw card however I believe that these rooms are in building one facing the freeway and I have read many reviews about the noise. The CCI on the other hand has a continental breakfast and is without the freeway problem. Does anyone have an opinion or info to help me make a decision - many thanks

Never been to Hojos, but the rooms in CCI are on the small side. We love it and we make do (two adults and two teen boys), but we always get the deluxe room, not standard. If you decide to go with Hojos, think about getting a sound machine. We always bring ours with us when we go to a hotel and set it to "rain". That way we don't hear all the little hotel noises- people in the next room, walking by in the hall, ect. It would probably help with freeway noise too. Although, ironically, one of the sounds we can choose is "city". :rotfl: If you don't want a sound machine, a small fan also works well to provide a steady white noise.
