Just returned from a wonderful stay at the Candy Cane Inn. We were there for 6 nights. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are clean, large and functional (we had a deluxe room). The beds were very comfortable, with wonderful pillows. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The maintenance people were always cleaning the grounds and maintaining the flowers/bushes. The breakfast was nice with a good assortment of fruit, muffins, bagels and juices. The coffee was very good. We had no problem with crowds at breakfast and always found a place to sit. The pool area was nice to relax by. It was never overly crowded and was very clean. The water was a wonderful temperature. We didn't use the hot tub but it was also very clean. It was under a cute gazebo. There is plenty of parking. The private shuttle to the parks was a plus. We used it a few times. The walk is slightly less than 10 minutes and is very easy to do. The hotel is on the same side of the street as the parks.

Overall we loved this hotel and its people.

Nice review! DH and I love the Candy Cane Inn as well. The shuttle is great and it was always on time for us, plus it's a blessing for sore feet. We had the Deluxe room also and found it was definitely spacious for the two of us.

DH travels a lot and stays at Marriott chain hotels, which is why we've been staying at the Fairfield the past two trips. We use miles instead of cash. However we'd stay at the CCI if we had to pay out of pocket. It really is a sweet place to stay!

Thanks for sharing your review. I've thought about staying there, so I'm really glad to hear such positive feedback.

thanks for sharing the pics..i've been looking at this hotel for a possible stay in feb.:goodvibes

We love the CCI as well. We just returned last night from a trip, and we did NOT stay there this time. The entire time we beat ourselves up over our hotel choice this time and wished we were at the CCI! I wont make that mistake again!

I appreciate the review because I told my husband yesterday that I refuse to go to Orlando with him while money is such a big concern because I work for the State University in a capacity that doesn't get me the good pay and benefits of a government worker but does make my job reliant upon state funding. Stressful!!! He is now looking at another trip to Disneyland instead. Besides we could get a nice room at the Candy Cane for about the same price as we would pay for the the value hotels at WDW, which I have heard referred to as the "Disney Housing Projects."

We loved our room at the Carousel Inn across the street from Disneyland when we were there in 2006. Yet during a walk around the area, my husband saw the Candy Cane Inn and said immediately "That is where I want to stay next time," even though all he had done was look at it from across the street! We are deciding now between the Candy Cane Inn or the Carousel Inn because the Carousel has microwaves in the rooms, which are a nice thouch for those of us with unorthodox eating schedules.

Don't know anything about the Carousel Inn except it is in a much more congested area of Harbor Blvd. One thing we really loved about the Candy Cane Inn was the distance away from the main gate. It was close enough to walk but far enough away from the line of hotels across from the entrance to the parks. Some of the hotels are practically on top of each other. Just to congested for us. After a long crowded day at the parks, it was nice to go "home" to the quietness of the Candy Cane Inn. We also liked not having to cross Harbor Blvd., even with the lights.

As for the microwave, they are available in the premium rooms only. I thought we would miss not having a microwave but we didn't. The food choices in the area were enough. Also, there is a pizza place that delivers to the Candy Cane Inn, right to your room. It's called Marri's Pizza. The girls at the Candy Cane front desk recommended it. We got a menu from them. We ordered a pizza and it was delicious. They have a wide variety of food besides pizza. Reasonably priced also.

There are microwaves in the Premium rooms at Candy Cane. :)

thanks for the input! we will be staying there in 25 days!

Enjoy. You will LOVE staying here. Remember if you feel like having a lazy day, ask the front desk girls for the menu to Marri's. Great pizza and they deliver to your room.

We love the CCI as well! We've stayed there 4 times and every time it was wonderful - our first stay was in 1994!

Thanks for the review! :)
