Candy Cane Inn or BW Park Place

My husband and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary with a trip to San Diego and Disneyland. This will be our first trip to both places. We are thinking about reserving one of these two hotels. Was wondering if anyone has opinions on them. We like the BWPP because it is across the street from the pedestrian entrance, king beds and lower price (AAA rate). We like the Candy Cane Inn because it looks more updated and the pool area looks nice. Do you know how updated the beds are at both? My DH has a bad back. Both are rated high on trip advisor but in AAA BWPP is a 3 star while the CCI is a 2 star. The money we save by staying at the BWPP will equal the hotel (almost) in San Diego. Thanks for your help.

If BWPPI is a big saving then definitely stay there. It is about half a mile closer to the entrance than CCI.

CCI is further from the entrance, but it also has it's own shuttle to the park that runs every 30 minutes.

We've never stayed at the BW, but have stayed at CCI many times and love it. My DH also has a bad back and has never had a problem with the beds. We enjoy having breakfast by the pool (breakfast is nothing fancy, just the basics, but it's free ), love the landscaping, and the staff has always been helpful and friendly. The rooms aren't very big but definitely fine for 2-3 people.

That said, if you are not spending much time in your room and you get a great deal at the BW, go for it and spend the savings elsewhere. A lot of people here recommend the Howard Johnson's and have gotten great rates there, so you might want to check them out. Whatever you decide, have a great trip!
