:confused3 I just wanted to hear from those who have stayed at one or the other, or even tried both? The walk to the park is about the same. 10 minutes, Right? CCH offers a free breakfast and HOJO I hear will soon have a better pool? We plan to go in the middle of May. So, I'm not sure when the pool will be ready at HOJO? We want some pool time.
It will be the 4 of us. Our two boys are 8 & 5. Honestly I am leaning more for CCH because it was voted #1 on a travel advisory site, I check often. But the HOJO was voted #3. Not bad:thumbsup2 Anyway, I wanted to hear from all of you. Likes/dislikes etc... Thanks!:goodvibes

I haven't stayed at either yet, but here are a few threads that may help:

Also, there is a shortcut that makes the HoJo about 100 yards closer, but without the shortcut they are basically the same distance. The deciding factor in a lot of people's decision between HoJo and Candy Cane is whether or not you can get the $59 Entertainment Book rate at HoJo.

I'm a loyal fan of the HoJo, but the main pool will be under rennovations in May, so that's a pretty big consideration. The HoJo does have a second pool which is actually probably larger than the one at CCI and will have just completed a full rennovation so it will be nice and new.

If you can snag a $74 entertainment rate on a Premium Disney View room at the HoJo I would still probably lean that way because the rooms are larger, and they just purchased new simmons pillowtop beds and put micros in all those rooms.

If a continental breakfast and a dedicated shuttle are most important to you, then I would probably stick with CCI for your trip this time.

hi there, i have stayed at both...candy cane inn in may 06 and hojo in sept 07...i truly loved them both...the candy cane inn just had a neat feeling to it...the pool is small, but the motel is smaller so it was never really crowded...we had the continental breakfast 4 or 5 of the the 10 days we were there and my kids enjoyed it...the hojo was also great, i found the staff went above and beyond with our questions...the rooms were a little larger and i think my kids preferred the hojo just for the pool, for me it is a toss up, but i think next year it will be the hojo again, mainly for 1 reason, it is closer to restaurants...mimis(one of the best in the area in our opinion  ) is right across the road...candy cane inn, it is more of a trek for food(not a big deal really)...both hotels are great, i think you will love both..they are both VERY clean :thumbsup2 ...have fun

Thanks so much for the info. I read and saw on another post the awesome pool feature that HOJO is working on. It looks like a pirate ship! My boys would love that. Maybe we should wait and try and go in June... oh, but the crowds! So the HOJO has two pools? I guess as long as one is open we are good. Thanks again.:thumbsup2

We have stayed at the CCI the last 3-4 trips. We love it there. Yes, it is an old motel, but it has been very well taken care of. The same family has owned it since it was built in 1956. It is their only hotel, and they take great pride in taking care of it. The shuttle is great, we found it very dependable. And, the breakfast is pretty good for a free hotel breakfast. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms are a bit on the small side, but we spend very little time, awake, in the room.

HoJo is my first choice of hotel. I've never stayed at the CCI so I can't compare but we love the HoJo. The Ent Rate is unbeatable, the beds are great, the rooms are nice sized and the staff is great!! We walk, it takes us about 7 minutes from the Esplanade to the hotel.

HoJo's is also my first choice for an off-site hotel, CCI is the second. I just booked CCI for May- only because the main pool area at HoJo's will be closed and my wife won't stay anywhere without a jacuzzi - and HoJo's for July (hoping the pool area will be done by then).

You'd have to wait until July for the Pirate theme pool. We'll be there in June and it's going to be closed all of then too.

We are staying at Hojo's for the first time then. We got a fabulous rate for a Disney view room, and I've heard such great things. We booked an extra day/night at the DLH so we could enjoy their pool/hot tub, to make up for it!
