I'm still working on stocking the buffet for DD's graduation party next month but I came up with another budget idea.
First of all, CVS has a bunch of candy on sale this week with ECB so I'll be making a stop there.
DD LOVED the sweet-tart candy pacifiers growing up. Every time we would go to the mall, that is what she would pick. My older DD worked at JoAnn Fabric and said that they had bags of this in their baby shower isle. So, we checked out the price there as well as Michaels and Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby is the cheapest ($2.49 for a large bag compared to $4.99 for the same size bag at Michaels). Hobby Lobby has a 40% off coupon on-line this week so I'll make a few trips there as well. It's only a few blocks from my house so it won't be a problem.
I also picked up a bunch of candy after Halloween at 90% off at Target. It's basically colored Pixie Stick sugar that they had in test tube type containers. I'm getting some empty sand art bracelets from Oriental Trading that come with funnels. Since the candy buffet is going to be outside (away from the house) we won't have to worry about the kids spilling when they make their own candy bracelets.
The hardest part is trying to keep this a secret from DD. I want a little extra surprise for her at her party.
