Did I just read that the Candlelight Processional will be TWO table service credits instead of ONE like it has been for the past few years:sad2:? Please tell me it isn't so. If it is I suppose I'll skip the package, book my Tutto Italia ADR for 1 TS and then wait in line on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Oh well, just when I thought I had it all planned out:confused3.

I just read that info too and am SO disappointed! Even to book on our own now is $60 - SIXTY DOLLARS per adult!!! Which does not include tax or gratuity!!! So for my family of two adults and two children it would cost us $150 plus tax and tip. We have done the show and dinner every year for 6 years. This is so disheartening. But I just cannot justify almost $200 for a meal at Disney. No way no how. We will also book a meal and wait in line.

Bad call Disney. Way to get in the holiday spirit!

The more I think about it, the more irritated I get:mad:. You are so right - bad call and a big case of the bah humbugs. Maybe, noone will do the package at those prices and/or 2 TS and we'll all be stuck waiting in line. I was thinking of avoiding the weekend and shooting for a Tues or Wed performance. Very dissapointing.:sad1:

I wish they had not moved your thread, I don't think its getting any exposure in this spot and I am SURE people are going to flip about this change.

Has the candlelight processional always been 2 dining credits on the dining plan or is that new this year? I thought in the past it was only one credit for the dinner and candlelight processional. If I am wrong and it was always 2 then I guess I am wrong in being upset. If it is new this year, then I am really upset. They have already taken away appetizers, making us pay for tip, and limiting choices with the dining plan now to make this a 2 credit dinner really makes me upset.

Welcome to the Magic of Disney. Two credits are new this year and next year they are charging different prices for the DDP based upon the season.

This year we noticed that many, many items were removed from restaurant menus and prices were increased when "free" dining started. Free dining has also been extended into December this year. That should make getting ADR's in December a real pain. December is the most popular time of year for DVC Members.

Has anyone else heard anything about the Candlelight Processional Dinner Package now being a Signature restaurant on the dining plan and costing 2 table service credits?

I have a feeling the only people who will be booking it will people who are on the DxDDP and have credits to burn. I can't seen anyone on the basic DDP willing to waste two credits on a meal that they can book otherwise with just one credit. I understand it does include an appetizer and special viewing area for Illuminations, but you still have to stand for Illuminations. Sorry, just not worth it and the prices are too ridiculous to pay out of pocket. I think Disney really goofed with this one.

We have an older crowd consisting of an 88 year old in a wheelchair, a 74 year old on a scooter, two that are 73 with one being on a scooter and one person that's 56 with bad knees. For us the stand by line would be torture. The older crowd gravitates to this show. Although, we qualify for handicap viewing for Illuminations; I think we will try the preferred viewing area now.

When you think about it on tier 3 each credit is worth $30 each. This is a much better return than most other signature restaurants. I'm looking forward to an appetizer being on the basic plus DP; so, that addition is welcomed.

For us, we will go OOP for an additional counter service meal and we won't get dessert with it; so, the extra cost for that lost TS credit won't be so bad. Infact, in most cases an entree for CS is about equal in cost to an appetizer at a TS; so, it's almost break even. You can use a snack credit for your beverage and this becomes a tolerable situation.

I will say most on the DP plan will opt for tier 3 when booking; so, I would suggest most people on the plan to call at their mark and not wait to do it later if you are using your 2 TS credits for it.

I always thought this was an exceptional deal for the CP package as 1 TS credit on the plan; so, I honestly expected this to change sooner or later.

The more you pay for Disney, the more they take away....Dining plan went up in price but gratitudes added. Candlelight processional went from one to two dinner credits....

I will go and try to get into the Candlelight proecessional without the dinner package. If I get in okay, if not oh well, I dare say this will be my last year at Disney.

I am getting very disappointed in all the nickle and diming and less service. Especially given the economy.

This is strictly my opinion only. No need to flame!

Have a Great Day!

There's some talk that there's a menu to chose from that includes all courses. I hope so, otherwise, it wouldn't be worth 2 credits. Quite frankly, I thought it was a bargain at 1 credit because the TIW wasn't available, and Disney tends to take away "bargains!"

So we know for sure that there's a menu that includes appetizers and desserts? If that's part of the change, it takes the sting out, I think. If not, it's totally not worth it IMO!

Yes, official word has been released from Disney that for 2009 all Candlelight Processional dinner packages will cost 2 TS credits per person on the dining plans.

They will include an appetizer (at non-buffets) and preferred viewing for Illuminations.

Disney makes changes all the time. You used to be able to go to the early show then dinner. now it is available as dinner before only.

Before, basically you paid for dinner and the spot reserved was a bonus. Now, you are buying a package that includes the seat and are paying a premium for it.

There is always the option to pay cash and not use credits and stay to the lower tiers. I thought it was interesting that they are charging 2 credits for all tiers.

True that Disney always makes changes....Doesn't mean I have to like it .I personally think it STINKS. NONE of the restaurants in WS are 2 credit worthy even with an appy and preferred Illuminations viewing.None are worth what the charge is oop.I am saving my 2 TS pp and going to a signature dining restaurant instead.Iwasn't thrilled with my choice of narrators for my visit anyway( Vanessa Williams or Abigail Breslin) so this seals the deal for me.

We were toying with the idea of picking up the DDP for our short stay at BCV just to take advantage of the CP.
That plan is out the window.........

Thanks for the heads up.

I have had my heart set on this since I booked our trip in January. :guilty: I just may bite the bullet and use the 2 TS credits (if I can get my restaurant choice and time) since we are going at a very busy time. I don't want to have to wait in the stand by line for a couple of hours with an antsy 6 yr old. :scared1:

What is the preferred viewing for Illuminations? Does that mean that the package will now include the seat for the CP show AND preferred viewing for fireworks? I still don't think its worth it and I agree it STINKS.
