Candlelight Standby - got in on a busy night!

My Mom and I arrived in Orlando today. We decided to go over to Epcot tonight for Illuminations. We entered through the IG and as we were walking toward the theater, we noticed that the package line was huge, back to Morocco. We were just going to sit at the tables across from the theater and listen to it, thinking there was no way we would make it in on standby, it was already close to 8:00pm (8:15 show). The standby line was down to the plaza in front of Italy. I asked someone at the end of the line if they said what the chances of getting in were, she said they were told they should make it! I didn't think it was going to happen, but we were seated just as the show started. We were on the far right, about half way up. I thought they were great seats, we could see everything! Kirk Franklin was great! So even if the line is huge, give it a try!

By the way, the holiday ending for Illuminations is awsome!

What a treat to get good seats at the last minute without expending any energy on planning! Makes the experience even more magical. If I"m ever blessed enough to be in WDW at that time of year, I'll definitely keep this tip in mind.

We also got in the standby line on Thursday. We did wait about 30 min. This did not work last Dec. but it was closer to christmas then.
