MY 180 day is today and i booked everything except CP package. I called and the CM said they were not released yet and they are being told "summer" but hoped within a week.

Last year the packages were available to book in the begining of July.

Hope that is the case if it isnt within a week, we are going to Yellowstone next Friday for a 10 day trip and dont want to worry about having to book the Dec stuff.

Spoke with a reservationist this morning, and she said they've been told to tell guests to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for an announcement.

The WDW dining website has a live link for Candlelight Processional dinner packages now. You can select the restaurant, date, and number of guests, but it'll always pull up no availability. Probably won't work until the packages are actually released.

Either is fine; it is a matter of preference. Usually the lunch package is less expensive, but it will be for the first CP of the evening when it is not yet fully dark. Sunset in December is around 5:30 and the first performance was at 5:00. If you prefer to see it after darkness has set in, you will need the dinner package that corresponds to a later performance.

We went to Yellowstone the same time last year and thought the same thing! Our 180 opened up while in the National Parks and I was thankful I had a travel agent because wifi/cell service was next to nothing. Even where they said they had it, it was hit or miss! But, the CP Packages came out later, so I was able to book that when we got home...
