We will be in WDW for Thanksgiving this year. I have seen mentions of the Candlelight Processional. What is it? How would you recommend we get in on the fun? Thanks!

I HIGHLY recommend getting ADR Candlelight Processional dinner package! Last year we went during Thanksgiving and the dinner package guest get in first which was key when we went because it was pouring rain so we got to sit under the roof while the 'non dinner package guests got soaked. Doesn't cost you any more just commits you to a dinner in Epcot.

We will also be at WDW for the week of Thanksgiving. I am so excited about the Candlelight Processional. We did it last year on our Dec trip and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We plan on doing the dinner pkg (if they ever come out) the first night. It will be a wonderful way to start the Christmas season!

Thanks for the input! The 2006 readers and dining options are available at allears.net. I am calling soon!!

According to wdwinfo, the full list of presenters has not been released. Also, seems like we won't be able to book the CP until mid-August, at least that is what the CMs are saying.

So am I correct in saying that you have to purchase tickets for this? This isn't something that you can see with just regular park access?

You can see this with regular park access...however it is HIGHLY recommended that you purchase the candlelight processional dinner package when that comes on sale. This will secure you a seat inside the theatre and you will have dinner at a select restaurant in EPCOT. Last year was our first year to do it and we did the dinner package and believe me when i tell you those without the dinner package did not get into the theatre. All it will cost you is dinner in EPCOT which is great in itself because EPCOT has wonderful restaurants. Feel free to PM me anytime if you have questions.

Have A Magical Day!

Don't miss the Candlelight Processional - it is one of the most beautiful things we have ever experienced at WDW.

If you decide to book the CP dinner package, ask the CM to recommend a time for your ADR depending upon which show you decide to see.

Have a great trip!

It's included with park access. It depends on when you want to go if you need to get the package. Early in the month, during the week, you can usually get in on standby, unless there is a very popular speaker. On Wednesday or Thursday evenings, I have walked in and got a seat last minute.

No.. not exactly. You purchase a Candlelight Processional dinner package (from one of the restaurants) and you get a pass that lets you into the show if you want preffered seating. IMHO you want this!!!

You need Park Entrance to get in the show.

Warning, don't sit in the front row in front of the brass instruments... half way through the show they started dripping spit out of their instruments.. ick

I'm sure I'm in the minority...

I was disappointed in the CP program last year after reading all the rave reviews...I was probably expecting too much.

I go to church, enjoy Xmas pagents & choirs, really can't put my finger on it but, whole family said "never again".

It was Eartha Kitt's last night, perhaps she was "off" - a bit over-the-top even for her, kept stumbing in the program, etc.

Will say it's probably the only way you'll get an ADR @ Epcot though.

I really wouldn't recommend this. The first time I did CP I let the CM recommend/choose my ADR and after dinner I had to run to get to the theatre on time for the program and had to sit in the back in the rain. The next time I went I choose a much earlier ADR and made it to the theatre with plenty of time to get a good reserved seat. I think we chose an hour early than the time they recommended when booking for the last show of CP. Of course, if you do CP first and eat afterwards I would plan in travel and waiting time.

Does anyone have the list of what the costs are for the ADR's for this? I know I saw a grid somewhere with it but I can't find it now...Also the list of the celebrity speakers?

I just checked on allearsnet and they have a list of tenative narrators. They are: Cuba Gooding Jr. (Oscar winner for "Jerry Maguire"), Maureen McGovern (Oscar winning singer and recording artist), Kirk Cameron (from television sitcom "Growing Pains"), Gary Sinese (from television's "CSI: NY" and also your CapCom in the Mission: SPACE preshow), Rita Moreno (Oscar winner for "West Side Story" and from television's "Oz" ), Marlee Matlin (Oscar winner for "Children of a Lesser God" and from television's "The West Wing"), and Stephen Curtis Chapman (Christian music's most decorated artist). They also have a list of the restaurants and prices that are available for the dinner package. Just search under the theme parks and they list the special events for each month. HTH

No big deal, and really quite necessary. Can you tell I'm an orchestra Mom. Personally I rather watch the violists. Never do though since I need the interpreter.
