Candlelight Processional worth it?

We saw it over at DL just trying to get through main street a couple of years ago. Being that I'm not of that religion, for me it was just a headache trying to navigate the crowds (it was a nightmare on main st). And goodness were there crowds. I'm sure it's great for christian folks, but be prepared to be packed in like a sardine from what I've seen and heard.

It's totally different at WDW. It's at the American Gardens theater at Epcot, rather than right in the middle of Main Street in MK, so the path through WS shouldn't get blocked. (I say "shouldn't" because I don't know how many people might be standing in the pathway to try to see a really popular narrator like Neil Patrick Harris, but it's still a pretty wide pathway.)

You don't get packed in like a sardine anywhere in EPCOT for the CP :) You may end up in a long line waiting to get in for a seat, but that's it. It's held in the American Pavilion so they only let in the amount of people that can fit in the seats; after that it's standing room only in the back, outside the pavilion. The walkway through America may sometimes get a little congested although that wasn't my experience (was a bit more crowded when NPH was there compared to Geena Davis) You can heard the narration and singing when you pass by, and you can catch glimpses even when not inside the pavilion, but it doesn't really disrupt those choosing not to view the show the way it sounds like it might in DL, although that's my opinion.

I'll agree with PP's that it was worth seeing -saw it twice on same trip w/ different friends. Kids 7 & 10 at time weren't thrilled but got through it. I believe some narrators are MUCH more popular and draw bigger crowds than others, NPH being one. Line to see him was much longer than when we saw Geena Davis and it looked like many more people were standing outside pavilion trying to see. We had the dining package both times and it was nice to have a seat before those w/o package, especially for Neil :goodvibes. It's probably more important if your narrator is one of the more popular ones.

Really? I owe somebody a sock in the shoulder. They told me it was an absolute nightmare just like DL

Just curious...

What makes a narrator popular? Is it because they are really good at the narration, or is it just because that person is a popular celebrity?

For example I have read a few people talk about how popular NPH is for this event and I am just curious why that is exactly.

I am very interested in a December trip this year if our September trip goes well so, The Processional is definitely something I am interested in.

I am not fan of NPH.. probably not a fan of many of the narrators because I am just not into celebrities. So I am really just looking for the best narration no matter who that is.

We've seen it twice and will see it again this year. Can't wait for the list to come out to see who will be there Christmas week.
