We are going for a short trip next Thanksgiving. We want to to see as much Christmas stuff as possible. Our kids at the time will be 3 and 15 months. Is the CP worth it or would you recommend just going around the world and seeing their Christmas stuff?

We are for sure doing Osborne and MVMCP. We will have my sister and BIL with us. It will be their first trip ever!! So we are trying to balance Disney's must do's and Disney Christmas must do's!

Thanks!

Depends on your kids. If you don't think they'd be able to sit quietly through a 40-minute concert, I don't know that I'd try to get seats for it, you can hear it quite well from the whole America pavilion, and there are tables and chairs out in front of Liberty Inn.

I mean, it's certainly worth seeing, but it's not particularly visual - just an orchestra, choir and narrator. If you think the kids would do better wandering around behind the crowd, or hang out at the tables where they can get up and move around if they get restless, that's a good option.

If they can sit through a church service without getting antsy, take them. If not, skip it.

We love this show. While like the other poster says-its not real visual, the choir does walk in, there is a choir director, trumpets etc. We took our kids when they were really young. They were used to sitting in church(sort of) and they did great. Also, since its in the evening you might luck out and they might mellow out if they've had a busy day. It really gets you in the Christmas spirit and its not like they would have to be real quiet. It they were too bad, you could get up and walk to the back but with 4 adults they could kind of walk back and forth in front of your chairs. And take some kind of goodies or toys in your backpack!

I don't know about church, they go to the nusery!! If we can hear it outside the pavillion, then maybe we will do that!

Keep in mind that not only would the little kids have to sit through a fairly long presentation (which will be over there heads - especially the narration), they'll be standing in a very boring line for a fairly decent time before even being let in. Even with buying the overpriced dinner package, people are in a long line by 45 minutes prior to the show. I cannot imagine taking a baby/toddler there - I'd be afraid I'd waste all that time standing/waiting and then have to leave after the show starts because 1 or the other is disruptive (and I would not ruin other people's enjoyment of the show).

So, it's a tough call - to be made by the parents who know their kids best.

We sat at a table by Liberty Tree restaurant and heard just fine. Once in awhile I'd get up and go see what was happening but as was mentioned there isn't much going on. The wait line was very long. I know with my young children, having the flexibility to stay only as long as we wanted and moving all around and talking was very low stress.

We did it last Christmas with an almost 3 year old and a 15 month old. We have generally patient and well behaved kids, but either my wife or I seemed to be on alternating "kid entertainment" duty through the whole show. At the end I had to leave about 10 minutes early with both of them as they were both getting too squirmy. I had seen the show before so it wasn't a problem for me, but assume you'll only be able to watch 50-75% of the show and then decide if it's worth it.

In retrospect, I might have put more effort into seeing more of the holiday storytellers around World Showcase instead and saving CP for a few years down the road, but at the time I really wanted my wife, mom, dad, etc. to see the CP as it was a first for them.

I recommend "hanging" in the area of American Showcase and you will hear the music and get a general sense of the show.

Try not to go for the 1st one....it looks so much nicer in complete darkness with the candles. You don't have to be in the theatre to see it.

I saw it just walking through the WS....and just stopped for a few minutes.
Happy planning
Kerri

Thanks for all your tips! I think we will probably skip it and just listen to it and visit the storytellers around the World!
