Hello,

I am going to WDW in December. The day that is best for me to do the candlelight processional is Friday the 8th December. No Narrator announced as yet. Two of us in our group want to go but at a push it is only me who is interested in going. We are not interested in the dining packages, (too expensive, all we get typically is chips from Yorkshire fish and chips). We just want to get in as standy by. Now I did the candlelight in December 2006, and December 2011. Both times we got in as stand by quite easily, about a 15 mins que, and in 2011 the stadium wasn't full- the back row was empty (Isabella Rossilini was the narrator). Not 100 percent which performance I watched but I think it would have been the last show of the evening. Now the reason I am posting is that I have the feeling that its's much harder to get into candlelight, I've read ques of 2 hours which is not what I want to do, and that up to 75 percent of seats are reserved for dining packages. Now I know its going on to a different topic but I just have a feeling there is a higher demand for candlelight processional then since I last visited and one reason I feel there is a difference in the attendance of the Halloween and xmas parties. I did them in 2006, 2008 and 2011 and crowds were low, biggest que was 45 mins for the seven dwarves characters. Fastforward to when I did the Halloween party in 2014 and 2015 it was 90 min ques for the dwarves, jack skellington ect and they were packed and I went midweek in September. That huge difference just makes me feel that more people will be going to candelight then they did the last time I went. So people, I need to know will it be a 2 hour queue to get in? if you don’t have a dining package is there no chance I will get in? I’ve read it’s best to do the 5 pm show as there is less demand, I’ve also read try and do the last show because they’ll be more chance of getting in. Any tips and opinions, and experiences please.

Thanks

Cassie.

Depending on the narrator, sometimes guests will get in line as early as 1PM, or so.

If seeing a show on X date is important, it would be wise to not wait until before the third show to get in line.
If its more of a casual interest, you can give it a shot later, if you like.

I wouldn't want to hear the show when I am waiting in line and not being able to see it......so I would try for the first show of the night.....maybe position yourself to be in that area around 3-4:30pm to gauge the line length and then hop in...

We always go at that time of year. We always wait about an hour and half in standby. Neil Patrick Harris has always been the guest speaker. He is one of the most popular speakers. HOWEVER this year Neil Patrick Harris is visiting the week before Christmas. How long you need to wait really does depend on the guest narrator. If the narrator is popular, you'll have to wait over an hour. If they aren't, you won't have to wait long. We've found the earliest show to be the least busy especially on a weekday.

Hi Guys. My narrator has been announced - Jodi Benson. cannot wait. so happy. What do you think the lines will be like for her. it's hard because a lot of disney fans will want her, but she's not as big a name as Kurt Russell.

Busy.

Not to threadjack, but I know next to nothing about the Candlelight Processional. 2015 was the first time we were ever in WDW during the holidays, and we just didn't get around to doing it.

I have a concept of what it's like, but not a full understanding. We're not religious at all, but we love the holiday "spirit". How long is the show? Is it completely impossible to get in if we show up 20-30 minutes ahead? We have no interest in waiting for anything for 60+ minutes...

1. 40 min. give or take.
2. Depends on the date, the narrator, the time.. well, everything.
3. It's a Disney tradition (goes back decades starting at Disneyland)
and it's in a rather small theater. Expect there to be lines.

Not impossible, but highly unlikely. Still, if you're in EP, it's at least worth a look to see if there's room.
