Candlelight Processional Package

Can anyone tell me about this? I talked to a CM but she was very vague. She said there are 3 levels of meals to choose from but only at certain restuarants. ( can I use my DDE? ) Then you watch the show. I would love a detailed explanation of this if possible, the appoximate time, what is the show, anything that I may need to know. We are traveling with DD6 and will probably do one night time program. CP, MVMCP or Osbourne lights. I want to make the best choice and everyone here always steers me in the right direction.

It's a Christmas show with celebraty narrators. They tell the story of Christmas with beautiful music. 5:00p, 6:15p and 8:15p.

Yes, three levels and on certain restaurants. You can just see the show without a dinner package but may run the risk of not getitng a seat depending on the day and narrator.

No, no discounts for any dinner packages...like CP or Fantasmic...no DDE.

I think you could do CP or MVMCP and still see the Osborne lights. It's just a walk through MGM after dark to see them. We usually see them after Fantasmic.

That's a really tough choice - I think it depends so much on your child, and honestly sometimes I think you never know how they're going to react until you're there. Our 2yo ds was absolutely enthralled with CP, we actually wound up booking the dinner package for a second night because he loved it so much. I agree with previous poster that you could probably incorporate that and Osbourne lights into the same night, though I think the later shows of CP are better - it's so pretty in the dark. Maybe make an early PS and see 6:00 show, then over to MGM? I think that over the past several years, MVMCP isn't as great as it used to be. We were there the first week of December this past year and found it to be really crowded (25 - 30 minute waits on all rides). The parade is really great, but most of the other shows you can see at other times. Hope this helps. Good luck - I think it's the best time of year to go!

We went on December 20, 2005 to the CP with the dinner package. We ate at Le Celliar in Canada with a 4:40 dinner reservation. We went to the 6:15 showing. It was the absolute highlight of our trip. Our 6 year old daughter thought is was wonderful - we bought the CD and friends of ours who have not been to the CP love the music. It is absolutely beautiful. We are in the process of planning our next trip and are leaning towards December just to go to the CP again. When we were there lots of people were "on stand by" for seats, but no one was let in the seating area. It was that full.

I first did the Candlelight Package back in 2002 and it was great. At the time, they only sold about 5 rows worth of packages, so your seats where down in the front on the left hand side of the stage.

One advantage was that we didn't have to stand in line 1 1/2 hours ahead of time like the those in the general admission line. It saved time.

In Dec of 2004, I did the package again. What a mistake! Instead of selling only a section, they sold as many packages as possible. They practically filled the entire theater. Thank goodness, we just happened to be in that area at 3:45 pm becuase the line was long to begin with. By the time it we were able to sit down for the 5:30 pm show, the line extended to Morocco!!!!!

Instead of a package with benefits, Disney once again turned it in to a money making show.

I will not be doing the package this year!

Having seen all kinds of Holiday programs Candlelight Processional is hands down the best. I absolutely loved it! The songs were wonderful and it really puts you in the holiday spirit. You can't go to Disney that time of year and not see it.

We saw this spectacular four times in late December. 250 +/- member choir (different every night as they are "volunteers" from all over the country who practice at home & perform at WDW), 60-member orchestra, incredible trumpets, plus the "official WDW choir." Special guest host/narrator each night. IOP skip the dinner -- WDW really pumps up the dinner price. Stand in the line to the right of the entrance to the performance area. Line might be long, but it moves and each time we were there everyone in the line was seated -- not a problem. This one is well worth the wait & IOP is the very best WDW Christmas presentation.

We were at WDW in early December & were fortunate enough to hear Jim Caviezel do the narration. It was absolutely incredible. We entered through the "standby" line entrance -- it was a long line, but everyone in that line was seated. We returned to WDW 27 Dec & saw the event three more times by other narrators. Always through the standby entrance, and always everyone was seated.

I went on Friday Dec 10, 2004 at the 5:30 pm show. For the other two shows that evening, the lines were as long if not longer.

The show itself is wonderful but not worth doing the package if you are not guaranteed the better seating.

This was my third time seeing it (1999 -- no package, 2002 w/package and 2004). The show has not changed. This time around I will be going with young children so we are planning on skipping it this year.

We did the dinner package this past Dec. and had a wonderful time. We went to the 6:15 show and then ate at LeCellier. I will be doing the package in the future.. you know you will be seated before the standby line.

Just don't come in 5 min. till the show starts and wonder why all the good seats are taken!

We're going to try to hit the CP with the package the day we get down there on Dec 16 (my b-day woowoo). Since we're traveling with our DS who has never been there, we initially considered doing a tier-1 package and eating in the Land in order to get him used to the characters, but that's quite a jaunt to get back to the CP. To celebrate, we decided that we're going to go Tier-3 and eat at the Teppan restaurant in Japan and mosey the few hundred yards to catch the show.

The package going on sale varies from year to year. I think they went on sale in August last year.
