Candlelight Processional package will go on sale 8/15 and some changes

I am not sure if this has been posted yet, but....

I called today to make dining reservations for my trip at the end of November/beginning of December. The CM I spoke to said the the tickets will go on sale on Tuesday August 15th, they are having alot of people coming in to handle the calls...but there are some major changes in the dining.
If you book for the early show, your dining time will be 1:45-2:45, if you book the 6:45 show your dining time will be 3:30 to 4:30 and if you book the 8:15 show your dining time will be 5:00 to 6:00.
I did not think to ask if the price will be different for the 1:45-2:45 dining since this is lunch time not dinner.
I know each of us speak to a CM and get different info, so I am just passing this along with a grain of salt.

No this is what I was told...I know we get alot of misinformation from the CMs but this sounded pretty detailed.

I know that I would not want to eat lunch in order to see the 5:00 show. There really seems like such a small time frame in which to make reservations. It would seem to me that everything would fill out too quickly.
I know the one year we went to the 6:45 show and we ate at the Coral Reef. Our reservation was for 5:00 so we felt that we would have plenty of time to make the show. At first the service was great but as the meal went on it got pretty bad, we had to run out of there to get in line for the Processional. I wonder if they are trying to eliminate these scheduling problems

Hmmm....interesting. I would actually prefer lunch for my dining time, but the package price would need to reflect that. I wouldn't want to pay dinner prices for a lunch meal. And that is definitely a narrow time frame to try to fit all the dining packages into. I wonder what the rationale was for limiting the dining times so drastically.

I was thinking about this. Maybe its because they didn't put enough ADRs aside for the package people and used up most of the ADRs already for the regular guests' ADRs.

This is the first time that we've been able to book at 180 days with the packages not going on sale yet, may have made things more complicated.

Just a thought.

That's just crazy.....they charge dinner prices for the top shelf restuarants who would pay that to eat at 2 or 3 in the afternoon.????

I wonder if they are cutting down on the number of places to therefore limit the number of reserved places at the show itself...therefore opening more are up for those not doing the dining?

We are there 2nd thru 9th, I wish it wasn't listed as open. Will they get someone good to do then, or will it be a CM. Where is the best restaurant to eat at for the CP. I realize that this is a subjective question. But I just thought I would ask.

What is the Candlelight Processional?
A Disney tradition now in its 36th year (2006), the Candlelight Processional is a moving presentation of the Christmas story in readings by a celebrity narrator and music by a Mass choir and 50-piece orchestra.


Where and when does it take place?

This event takes place in the America Gardens Theatre in World Showcase in Epcot. It is an outdoor (uncovered, not climate controlled) setting and is not cancelled due to inclement weather. It is recommended you dress accordingly.

It begins November 24 and runs every evening until December 30. Shows are approximately 40 minutes. Each evening there are three shows -- 5:00 p.m., 6:45 p.m., and 8:15 p.m.

It's a great show, we had Ertha Kitt as our narrator in 2004.

I am going away until the end of the month and I didn't want to miss booking this so I asked the conceirge at AkL to book it when it comes available in August. I requested the early show and dinner afterwards. He didn't say anything about having to eat before.

I guess I'll wait and see what he comes up with.

Last year was the first time the packages went on sale before the ADR window opened up.

This year they aren't on sale yet and the window has opened up.

True but I was just taking a guess as to why they'd do something so strange but of course, this CM could be wrong and driving us all crazy for nothing!!
