We leave for DW in 3 days , and I have a last minute question about the CP dining package. This will be our first Christmas trip to DW, so I'm just wondering if it's worth the 2TS credits, or if we should just make a regular restaurant reservation and take our chances with CP seating? Any thoughts? Also, is it a fixed menu, or can we order off the regular menu?

I am in the exact same situation, and choose to go with the dining package at Tuttu Italia. My reasoning is that 1. for the first time, I want the full, best experience watching the performance. Not sure when we will do xmas time again. 2. With out the package you are gambling that you can even get in let alone an unobstructed seat. 3. a number of the package seating are covered , good for any rain. 4.You still have to eat some where. 5. while you may have to arrive early even with the dinner package, it wont be nearly as early without it.

On the last day, we are just going to use a cs credit for dinner as we arrive in the afternoon on the first day and wont have lunch that first day.

Theres no special menu, just order off the regular one.

Hope that helps.

In my opinion that CP dining package is definitely worth it. I did the CP for the first time last year and the regular line was CRAZY!! I only did a long weekend last year and we are doing a long weekend again this December so it was worth it to not stand in the standby line.

Are all the restaurants on the package 2 TS or just certain ones?

All restaurants that offer the CP dining package(paid for by theDDP) will charge you 2 TS credits. It has nothing to do with what they normally would charge you as most are 1TS, rather, it is their way of charging a premium for the seating. If you were to pay out of pocket, then, some restaurants will be cheaper than others.

We are doing the package. With young kids I think it's a must because I could never get them to stand in the standby line for that long. And honestly I wouldn't want to either.

I think it is definitely worth it. And don't forget you get preferred viewing for Illuminations the night of your CP package. :thumbsup2

If you are leaving 2 days from today, it is unlikely that there are ANY CP ADR's still available. Folks have been making those since early June and most sell out way in advance.
I know this week is quieter than Thanksgiving and later in December, but if there are places you really want to eat, you should book ADR's. Most popular, in park restaurants book solid and they do not hold tables for "walk ups".
Good Luck

Two different answers: IMHO CdF is not worth 2 credits.
but
I would have a CP pacakge to assure seating without the FOREVER wait. Even with the CP pkg. you need to be in line at least 45 minutes in advance. AT least.

Thanks for all the great responses! After a lot of debating, we've decided to keep our regular (non-CP) Chefs de France reservation, because I'm afraid my 5 year old nephew won't be able to sit through CP anyhow. I'd hate to use up an extra TS credit, for possibly nothing. BTW, I just happened to nab the CP package yesterday by checking the website at the right time (it really does happen!). Hopefully, someone else will get to enjoy it now! :goodvibes
