Candlelight Processional or Osborne Lights...if you HAD to choose!?

I love both. We see CP several times in a week, usually once with each narrator appearing while we are there. The narrator can make or break the show though. We saw Whoopi her first year and she was very irreverent, almost mocking. If that was my first time seeing it, I would not go back. We saw it with many others who were great. We never get a package but go to an early show weeknights.
We also love Osborne Lights but CP is our favorite Christmas thing at WDW.

I love both and both are definite must-sees. However, for me the Osbourne Lights is a game-changer/once in a lifetime kind of extraordinary performance and just unlike anything you cans ee anywhere. The Candlelight is a truly wonderful rendition of the Nativity and excellent...however, there are tons and tons of variations on Christmas Pageants like that (well, of course, not exactly like that, but ballpark) that you can see anywhere. Disney does a great choral and narrative and colorful rendition of the Nativity...but they do not reinvent the wheel here.

For the Osbourne Lights, the wheel is not just reinvented, it is smashed and made new again, unlike anything you can imagine. It's exciting, it's dazzling, it will leave you in awe. It's a combination of the best Christmas music set to dancing light displays...and that description can not do it justice. It's a party, it's festive, it's Disney. The Candlelight is more sedate, more like Church, albeit quite enthralling and beautiful. It's not exactly...fun though.

By all means, if you have time this season, do both! However, even if Osbourne wasn't going away, and you could only do one, it still wins because you just can't get an experience like that anywhere else and it's atmosphere is 2nd to none.

NO question in my mind: Candlelight Processional. Osborne Lights is really just waaaaayyyy too many lights crammed into far too small an area. They are NOT what they used to be, when they were on Residential St. The Candlelight Processional is beautiful and moving, and unlike any other Christmas pageant I've ever experienced. We are not religious by any stretch of the imagination, but the CP always brings tears to my eyes. Awesomely beautiful and moving.

I would choose the Osborne Lights. Full disclosure though...I don't like choral music.

Just a couple of questions. Are you all adults? Are there any children? Have you seen either?

I would choose Osborne Lights. It is the last year. There is just a WOW factor there that cannot be denied.

CP is nice. We have gone in the past. Our kids were 10 and 12 at the time. They did have a harder time sitting through it though. The night we went it was wet, damp and cold. As an above poster stated it can be ruined if you have people who are disrespectful around and are gabbing and not paying attention.

Whatever you choose I am sure you will be happy.

CP- makes you stop and reflect on the meaning for the season and literally gives me goose bumps!

Any other year, I would say CP. Since it is the last year for the lights, I would do them. We have had good luck seeing the last show of CP several times. We also had a great experience at the lights one night right before closing as well. Either way, it will be great!

I've done both, and this year, even before finding out it was the last year for O-lights, I chose not to do the CP.

What would personally get YOU more in the holiday spirits
If the real meaning of Christmas spirits, Candlelight Processional. If the secular spirits, Osborne Lights. However, both are great and with this the final year for Osborne Lights, I probably would see those, if I knew I would be able to see Candlelight in a future year. If it was not the final year, I would do Candlelight.

Candlelight Processional, hands down. It is such a wonderful presentation. Apples and oranges, really, but my family much preferred CP to O lights. O lights you're squished shoulder to shoulder and the lights are kinda meh for us.

What would personally get YOU more in the holiday spirits for those of us who are going to do one other park beeches MVMCP what would you choose if you had to!?

Again you guys are he greatest!

Even if this wasn't the last year for Osborne lights I would have still said Osborne lights, but since it is the last year, this is a no-brainer. It's likely you can do Candlelight Processional some other year.

Thought I'd put my opinion in, for this year I'd say Osborne lights since it's the last year, but if you ever have the chance to go during the holidays again definitely check out the CP, since I was a part of it, I'm a little biased lol. It ultimately depends on you and your fam, if you don't care for carols I wouldn't do CP.

Osborne lights, NO QUESTION. Especially since this is the final year.

I like Candlelight, but my kids got bored and it was definitely a different type of entertainment. It's also pretty religious oriented, so if you aren't Christian (and we are not, we are agnostic), it might not be as meaningful for you. It's beautiful, and I knew many of the songs, but I didn't find it to be as deeply moving as others. Definitely a great Christmas tradition though!

That's like asking to choose which child is your favorite~ :joker:

It's not like choosing a favorite. It's like one is getting married and moving away so things will never be the same again, while the other will still be home for a while.

Hands down LIGHTS! They give me goosebumps. CP was lovely and peaceful but many churches do the same thing. And last year for "Osborne" so without knowing if Disney will try to replicate I'd have to see them one last time.

Lights! Although I really feel the spirit of the CP, the reader makes or breaks it for me. To much emoting and acting, versus the simple statement of the holy words, just ruins CP for me. Osbourne Lights are perfect every year, plus this is the last year!!!
