I am not offended. In fact, I found your breakdown to be quite useful and informative!

I changed the posting because this was an email I copied and pasted from my DU agent on to the board. So, since this was a comment and opinion that was not my own I felt it better to edit it now. If it had been my actually words and or opinions I would have left the posting as is. I edited out my DU agent's opinion and not my own! I must have missed that one somehow as I took out other things like she would book our ressies for us! Oops!

I am sure your post and the breakdown of costs will help people make choices that are appropriate from them. My family and I will will still do the dinner package. At least we plan to have dinner at the Biergarten again where the increases don't hit the pocket book as much. However, I had considered going again with just my DH. Now I think I will just have her make PS instead. We can always wait in the other longer line if we want to see the show again!

Thanks for the advice. I think we'll just turn up one night and see how much of it he will tolerate!! ha! ha! He loves music and will happily sit through a film at the cinema......but I'm not sure that the topic will hold his attention! Nothing ventured nothing gained!!

Help me understand. If you get the package ,then do you have a seat for the show? How does it work? This is my first Christmas there and not sure what the show is exactly. Can someone explain and give me advice on how to best enjoy it ? Thanks so much!!

If you purchase the package you will get dinner and get to see the show in a "special" area of the theatre. You do not have to purchase the dinner package in order to see the show. Candlelight is a massed choir with a guest narrator reading the Christmas Story. It is a beautiful and very moving event. The advantage of doing the package is that you will have a seat for the show time that you want. You will still have to wait in line, but not for as long a period. There are two different lines, one for those with the package and one for those without. The ones with the package are allowed to enter first. There are roped off areas for the package guests. After the package guests enter then the ones without the package can fill in the rest of the available seats. We prefer the package and even with the increase in the meal cost still feel it is the best way to go. There is something even more special about having your nice meal and getting to see the show, too.

Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me about how long the Candlelight Processional lasts? I'm trying to figure out what time I should make my PS for.
