I'm on the fence about securing a CP reservation; though we love the Christmas holiday, we are not Christian. Think we would enjoy the show anyhow?

Thanks for any input!

I'm kind of jewish (my mom is jewish, dad is not, I was raised culturally but not religiously jewish)... I LOVE the candlelight processional. It is a beautiful and moving presentation even if you believe it to be fiction. If you love the beautiful (but religious) music then you will enjoy it. It's mostly musical with a bit of narration. If you're "turned off" by religion than you may not like it so much. I am happy to celebrate a person who had the ideals of Christ whether he was divine or not.

I think that if you are appreciative of a moving story, beautiful music and trumpets (who does not love trumpets?) you will enjoy the CP. I am Catholic, so my opinion may be a little biased, however I find that during the Holiday season there is so much to appreciate in regards to music and tradition. There are many celebrations occuring during that time and I love every minute of them.

I am a Jew who is married to a Catholic and we love it! We have been 4 times over the years for the 8:15 pm show with 4 different narrators and words can't express how amazing it is. We usually do the dinning package with dinner at Chefs. We enjoy the storytellers there as well.

Here's a litmus test: do you enjoy the Charlie Brown Christmas Special (which is overtly Christian and provides a condensed version of the same material covered by the CP)? If so, go relax and see the CP. If you're offended or uncomfortable by it, the CP probably isn't for you. Absent that, you should be able to enjoy some part of the show and presentation even if you're not on board with the message.

That's a really good point. In the end if it ain't for the OP then I guess just bag it.

I'm agnostic and love Christmas. The lights, the music, how everyone seems to share just a tad more love and be a little more polite towards the other. It'll be my first time doing the Candlelight Processional and I can't wait to experience it, the pictures and videos I've seen so far are beautiful and everything looks very ethereal and regal.

It is very moving. I am catholic and we play the cd every year while we decorate our tree

It tells the story of christ's birth along with Christmas music. If you are religious it is very moving. If you are not, be advised it is the story of Christ 's birth. I hope you enjoy it, it is an experience

I assume that since you said "we love the Christmas holiday", you are familiar with not only the story but also the traditional carols. This is the the best presentation of both that I have ever seen.

Plus, as others have mentioned, the herald trumpet players are spectacular to watch on their own.

Don’t worry they have removed the Christianity part of the show back in 2013. They used to recite the “One Solitary Life” poem by Dr James Francis but apparently that made people uncomfortable so like everything else in the homogenized world for Disney it is no longer in the show.

You can watch it on youtube and decide for yourself. There are a lot of them on youtube. Of course, it does not convey how beautiful and moving it is, like being there in person. It is free, and I think you will find it worth your time. The only real problem is how popular they are, you have to stand in line so long to get in, so be aware and prepared for that. Plan on maybe an hour in line. If it is a particularly popular narrator, you may not be able to get in. Even with the dining pkg, you have to line about about a half hour ahead.

We are Christian but have been to the CP with others who are not and all had a great time. The music and production is beautiful, if you know the content is carols along with the Christmas story going in, I think you will enjoy it. The talent is amazing and they really do an incredible job. We did the dining package and it was absolutely worth it. Part of the reason we plan to take our next trip around Christmas is because of how much we loved the CP the first time we saw it!
