We have never been at Christmas and I keep reading about CP but I haven't read anything about what it is or how you book it, any help would be appreciated,

The Candlelight Processional Package allows you to have dinner at an Epcot Restaurant and guarantees seating for the Candlelight Processional at America Gardens Theater.

From WDWInfo http://wdwinfo.com/holidays/candlelight_processional.htm

To book the Candlelight Processional Dining package you can call 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463) or ask your Dreams Unlimited Travel Disney specialist to make your arrangements for you. NOTE: The Candlelight Dining Package will be paid for at the individual restaurant where the preferred seating badge will then be distributed.

Can you use your DDP credits for the CP? And are they still the standard credits (1TS)?

If you're going to book at this point, you may have to be very flexible on which date/restaurant/seating you get. It took me several days of calling this past week to get a reservation at all, even when my request was "any seating, any restaurant except Biergarten."

When you call to reserve, you'll have to provide a credit card guarantee, which will be charged only if you cancel within 48 hours or fail to show.

Even with the package, you will still have to wait in a long line for your performance, but it does guarantee you a seat. You'll want to be in line 30-40 minutes before showtime.

The Candlelight Processional is a lovely event that we make a point to catch every year. Give it a try.

thanks we have a ressies in Epcot now on the 29th I may turn it in to this I am going to do so more research, looks great though

Does the restaurant tier have anything to do with the seating location? Do certain tiers have better seats? Or is it dependent on when you get into line?

Also, any ideas on how to entertain DD (4) while we are waiting in line? She is pretty good when waiting for a ride, because she really wants the payoff. But I am not sure how excited she will be about waiting in a line for the CP.

Lastly, are the seats comfortable? I have scoliosis, and my back always hurts when I wait for Fantasmic to begin at DHS. Does anyone ever bring cushions with seat backs attached? Would that be strange?

Thanks!

Keep the reservation until you book CPP. The packages sell out quickly, so I'd hate to see you stuck without a reservation somewhere. I hope you get one, it's a great show!!

No, the restaurant doesn't matter with the seating location. It's one big line - first come first serve.

The show is performed in the American Gardens Theater across from the American Adventure. I'm not sure if you've ever been there, but the seats are metal and not very comfortable. I definitely think it would be worth it if you brought a cushion if that will help you sit for a longer period of time.

I just wanted to add that if you are a person who HATES standing in line,it is possible to arrive at the Theatre as late as fifteen minute to twenty minutes before the performance starts.By this time the CPDP line that Guests have been standing in for over an hour will already have emptied into the Theatre and you can just walk right into the Theatre with your CPDP badge. You will NOT get the best seats in the CPDP section, but you will be seated in the CPDP section.I use this strategy every year.To me,because I HATE to stand in lomg lines,it is worth not having the best seats but being able to walk right to my seat fifteen minutes before showtime.:)

Just wanted to add, you can not "turn" your current reservation into a CP reservation. They allot so many CP reservations per restaurant, because there are only a limited number of seats in the American Gardens theater. I called June 24, the day after the CP packages opened, and all of the tier 3 restaurants were already sold out for the last show on the night we are going. We ended up with Garden Grill, which my children will love, but I really wanted to try the new Italian place, but that's just not going to happen.

We managed to get a ressie for CP at Le Cellier (second show - 6.15) We are dinning at 3.45 pm (yuck but all we could get). Does anyone know if we will be eating off the lunch menu or the dinner menu?

On All Ears in categories Seatings 2 & 3 as dinner. Other than that info I'm not sure what time Le Cellier stops serving lunch/starts serving dinner. I'd be interested in knowing too as we just got a CP package at Chefs de France at 3:50 and the duck (which I was planning on getting) is not on the lunch menu.
