Candlelight Processional Dinner Packages

I was, today, told to try back the end of July. I believe that it is true they are waiting for the formal narrator release.

It's very limited windows of time available for this. That plus free dining plus preferred viewing for Illuminations could be bad. Maybe taking 2 TS credis will deter some people?

Keeping ears eagerly posted.

I was just wondering if the new restaurant in Italy might be part of the package this year and is causing the delay?

The limited amount of dinner availability may also have to do with a small glitch in the dining reservation system. I was able to make my ADR's for the first week in December BEFORE the 180 day mark. I just went online, typed in my ressie #, and it allowed me to! I was shocked!!! So, not sure how many other people were/are aware of this glitch, but it may influence ressie availability in conjuction with holding tables for the CP package.

I also went in for dining ressie's on line before 180 mark and it did not bring up availability for Le Cellar which I was looking for. Then I tried again a few days later and got it, but realized it was 180 from my check in date at BLT not 180 days before I actually wanted to eat there! I really thought I could only make a ressie 180 days prior to the actual ADR, learn something new everyday but it also explains why the ADR's were so limited since someone checking in 4 days before me would have already booked their ADR for my DH's B.day weekend! I was able to get an early dinner at Le Cellar so he is very happy!

While talking with MS today I asked if they had seen anything on the CP. He said there was no update and the reservations did not appear yet. I guess the really mean the END of July.

When I call Disney Dining they are still saying that they have no word on when the CP dining packages will be available. Now they are saying to check the WDW website instead of calling them. Anyone hear anything different?

I've been following a thread on the restaurant board that might interest you:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2426127&page=37

I check it every morning as there are DISers who call Disney and post the results every morning! :thumbsup2

Does anyone know what time lunch officially changes to dinner??? Interested in LC or RnC for a CP package.

Thanks

The Disney blog announced today that packages will go on sale Aug 26th.

Just an FYI for those who have never been - even if you buy the package you still have to wait in line to get into the show. You will be given a sticker for your shirt and everyone with the package lines up and is let in the theater as you would any other show. We have gone for 6 years in a row now, and we line up about an hour before the show starts. The worst thing about that can be hearing the show in progress, along with waiting children! But if you want to be closer to the front, you've got to get in that line.

We love, love, love Candlelight Processional. Its probably our biggest holiday tradition. I bought the CD and play it in the car for the kids as it gets close to Xmas. (ok, I admit it, we played it yesterday!)

Good luck to everyone getting the restaurant of your choice this year!

We got the package one year and sat in the front section. We thought it was too close and too loud. We like the second section center better.

do you have to have a dinner package to see this or can you wait in line the day of and try to get in? Never been in December and finally going for 5 nights (not long enough!)

Facing the stage, the line for people without the dinner package is to the right. First they let the line of package holders begin to fill up the seats, and then they let the people in the other line in. So, the people on the right are filling in the right side of the theater. Sometimes all of the people in that line do not get in. Once we were so near the front of that line, but it stopped and we were so disappointed. We decided to wait in line for the next show. However, about 5 minutes into the show, they must have found more seats, and we did get in. There were still plenty of people behind us in the line that didn't make that show.

I suppose it depends on the day of the week and which show. We went back the next day, a Monday, and we walked right into the theater for the first show.

Thank you I think we will try on the Monday we are there and if we cannot get in we will just have to come back the following Dec!:rolleyes1

This really isn't a DVC topic. Since it seems to be continuing on, I am moving it to the Restaurants Board.

Last year the area was the plaza on the Future World side between the two stores.

If you do the 8:15 show, is there enough time to get over there? I will be with my parents, and they will not be able to "walk with purpose"

We have never made dinner reservation to see this show. Our tric is to make sure we go to Epcot on a night that is NOT EMH. The crowds are lower than and to see the CP seems much easier. We usually see the 2nd show and once we walked up to the non-reservation line about 1/2 hour before the show and there were only maybe 20 people in front of us. This seems to be the norm at least when we have been there. People might have different experiences, but this has worked for us. :thumbsup2

You might have some trouble getting there on time. Illuminations will be at 9:30. If you can find a good place to stand (there will be no seating at the viewing area unless you get there early enough to find a bench or something) on the way over there, you may want to take it and not try to get there.
