Need some advice...should we do the package or just line up for the 5:00 pm show?

Any thoughts? What are the package dinners like?

Our narrator will probably be Marlee Maitlin!

We did the package in 2002 because I wanted to be guaranteed a seat. The price you pay for the package seemed to be a good deal because you get a really good meal.

We opted for a early dinner and then we are going to line up for the last show. I have the DDE card so I wanted to use it for my discount at LeCellier.

we did the package, ate at the Rose and Crown and then just walked intop the reserved seating. the price is about the same as you would pay for a meal. We didn't do that many sit-down meals at Epcot so it was worth it.

I was wondering the same thing. We're going Dec 1st to the 4th so I didn't know how really busy it would be. From what I've read, even if you have the dinner package, you still need to be in your particular line about 30 minutes ahead of time. I'm thinking for the time we're going, lining up about 45 minutes early in the non-reserved line should do it ??? :confused3 I too have the DDE card and it doesn't seem applicable on the package. Am I crazy to NOT book the package ???

TIA for the info.

It depends on whether it's close to Christmas and also on who is narrating whether it can be worth it. The nights Jim Cadezil (sp?) from Passion of the Christ is there the lines will be very long. Last year the standby lines were very long and people were turned away.

We went twice last Christmas (the 20th & 23rd of Dec.) and went thru the standby line. We lined up about 45 min. before the show and had seats in the center just 2 rows behind the people who had packages. So I would say if you want to have a nice meal that night, go ahead and book a package, but it is not necessary if you don't mind standing in line for a little while. Once we were seated, a couple of us went out to the American Pavilion and got food and we ate in our seats. Enjoy.

OK, we took the plunge. I just made reservations at Le Cellier for Dec 19 for 5:20. We're going to see the 8:15 Candlelight Procession. :goodvibes

I hope it's timed just right that we can run and get a spot to watch Illuminations right after! :cloud9:
