Candlelight Processional 2024

So I am new to all this so quick question.

I would like to see one of the shows after Christmas.

Is my best bet, buying a dining package to do that? Do I need to wake up early and get it as soon as it goes sale?

I am also curious if I need to buy an Epcot ticket now or do they sell out that week? ( Can I buy day of? )

Just seeing what I need to do to guarantee entry.

Thanks!
Yes you need to book CP ADRs as soon as they are released. I think last year many dates were still available later that morning but if you have a popular narrator they can go in minutes.

If you want to guarantee entry into EP just buy your ticket now. Why play with fire?

You can get better sushi at your own local place. Not saying it was bad, but no where near worth the cost for what you get
I actually enjoyed Shiki-Sai and felt the experience was pretty authentic compared to my recent trip to Japan. But I didn’t have sushi when I was there, and agree $100/pp is ridiculous! Takumi Tei was wonderful but totally priced me out when moving to prix fixe.

There are so many restaurant options this year I feel like ADR times are going to be pretty limited, it’s not like there would be any additional seating for the shows.

Hi everyone. I am a new WDW passholder (Florida resident) after being a longtime DLR passholder (former California resident). Sounds like reservations work a little different at WDW but want to clarify a couple of things before October 29.

1. Does the restaurant I book for my ADR make a difference on where I get to sit for the show?

2. Does the time of the reservation I book for my ADR make a difference as to which show (time) I get to see?

If you don't already know, both answers are yes to the DLR Fantasmic ADR, but Disney clearly states that on their website. Thank you all very much for your help. We just got back from WDW today after going to Food and Wine and can't wait to go for Christmas!

Also a bicoastal pass holder— in prior years the answer to Q1 (unlike DLR) is no— but I do expect them to change it at some point just so they can charge more for some restaurants. I would also say that most of the theater is ”good enough” viewing— unlike the seating at Fantasmic DL where it’s not great the sides and can be dicey further back.

For Q2, yes— which show you attend will be determined by what time you dine. It should tell you during the booking process.

  1. No. Everyone with a CP package enters the America Gardens Theatre using the same entrance. If you want to be close to the stage, you will want to get in line early.
  2. When you book the CP package, the first thing you have to select is what CP show time. You will then be presented with dining times for the participating restaurants to select from.

Different ballgame than out west. Le Cellier folks have the same chances as day of Regal-Eagle folks. Where you sit is pretty much determined by when you decide to line up in the package line. As you enter the theater you will pick from what is available (the area under the awning was roped off for VIPs my night but it was NPH and he's super popular- still, you will not be all the way up front, there will be rows of people in front of you). On the bright side it's stadium bench seating, not the concrete floor.

My kids don’t have the patience to sit still and wait for the show to start for long, historically we’ve shown up less than 10m before the show and the seats aren’t amazing, we’re typically all the way to the left (facing the stage), but you can still see 90% of the stage or more. We go for the music and the story more than the visuals so it works out OK for us…but if you really want to watch the show then I think you should get there a bit earlier.

No. How early you get to the line outside the event is what matters. The line will form like 2 hours before the event. So even if you have tickets, you need to get there early for good seats.

There are 2 lines, one for ticket holders who did the dining package (reserved), and one for people without a ticket (standby). Depending on the performer, the non-ticketed standby line may start as early as when the park opens.

2. Does the time of the reservation I book for my ADR make a difference as to which show (time) I get to see?
Your reservation at the time of booking will tell you which show you'll see.

To clarify - do you typically have the Dining package tickets when you do this or are you standby? We only care about the story and music, too.

I’m sorry I wasn’t clearer, good question— that’s showing up less than 10-15m before performance WITH a dining reservation. I do not think we would have gotten in at all without a dining voucher.

*speculation time*

Is the general feeling dining packages will take more seats this year with more restaurants joining the program or do we think same amount of seats but fewer per restaurant?

I know there's been some talk about when to get in line for a good seat - but if you have the dining package, is there a certain time they tell you that you must enter by (like 15 minutes prior to showtime)? ie is there a certain time they start filling in empty seats with the standby line?

It's printed on your voucher that you receive at your meal, something like 15-30 mins. That said, I saw people wander in at starting time from the dining package side after they'd shutdown standby so I don't think they give away all the dining section to standby after that point.

Gary Sinise or NPH?

I'm looking at a quick trip and those are the two over my dates. My first candlelight was last year with NPH and it was absolutely amazing. I'm leaning toward NPH again because I wanna wrap the trip with CP but doing a little searching I'm seeing Gary Sinise gets great reviews so wondering if I should shake things up this year...

How do you book the package on the app - will there be a "live" button to click on the CP dining package page?

Yes, there will be a clickable list of the dining locations for the package on the candlelight processional dining package page when it opens.
