Candlelight Procession -Is it possible to see it?

It has been many, many years since I have been able to be at Disneyland for the Candlelight Procession. I arrive Saturday morning and will be there through Wednesday, so both days of the procession are possible for me. I would like to see it if possible, but don't know much about the current logistics. Any tips on how to be sure I get to see it, which day/performance to attend, where to stand, how early to get there, etc.? I'm taking my friend for her birthday, and this would be a wonderful treat for her, since she has never been to Disneyland when it is decked out for Christmas.

It's difficult to get a good view and requires a lot of time and standing.

Either watch the late parade from Town Square and keep your spot for the CP. Or when the first CP ends go to Town Square and take a spot someone is leaving.

It may be better to spend her time in the rest of the park rather than giving a couple hours to the CP.
