Candle options

Hi there,

So being Australian I had NEVER EVER heard of the Unity Candle....it's an American thing...so I completely dismissed it at first. I've been to religious and non religious weddings here and never seen candles or sand being used. (also no family of the groom is coming so it seems a bit pointless...)

That being said I was reading the ceremony notes of a modified Catholic wedding here and they used a WEDDING candle that they just lit together near the end. So then I was thinking....ok....maybe I could use what YOU call a unity candle and have a wedding candle lighting as a memento.

What I'm wondering though is CAN I BRING MY OWN!

I'm doing an Escape wedding and the only options are the Mickey crystal and something else which are really quite bland and not terribly interesting.


This is something I can get custom made but I'd then need to get a holder and tapers. Is there any issue doing this and getting it set up at the altar before the ceremony? Or Can Disney actually do more than just the ones above?

I'm sure Disney can get you different options and charge you up the wazoo for them, but you can also bring your own.

Ok then...I'll just throw this ball to the fiancé...if he wants a candle I'll order something we will be happy to display later then.

We took our own. No one else was involved in us lighting the unity candle, just my husband and me.

The Fiancé decided we didn't need a candle...sounds good to me...one less thing to worry about.
